I was honestly skeptical about getting this because it seemed like one of those baby products you don’t really need. You can just use your finger, right? But I’m actually really glad I got it. Love that this is silicone. It is easy to clean and soft to touch. It makes applying rash cream so easy and mess free. The suction cup on the bottom allows for standing it after it’s been used so you don’t get cream everywhere. Have not tried other brands to compare but would probably purchase this one again over a cheaper version from another brand just because I have never been disappointed by a Frida product so far. When people ask me for my favorite baby product, this is genuinely one of the first things I recommend. I’ve had one (the same one) for all 3 of my kids, and I constantly buy them as baby shower gifts because once you use one, there’s no going back. Is it technically necessary? No. Am I willing to muck up my hands with diaper cream during a midnight diaper change when this exists? Also no. It spreads diaper cream easily, keeps your hands completely clean, and is one of those inexpensive little things that just makes life with a baby easier.
