The first thing I noticed when taking the bike out of the box was the build quality. This bike is sturdily built of heavy gauge aluminum and the welding is visibly well done. The bike has features usually found on bikes costing at least $1000 more: good disk brakes, high capacity battery, good digital display, and a very powerful motor. It also has full suspension. The front suspension is adjustable, and can be locked out for maximum distance on smooth terrain. After assembling the bike (throwing away all the packing foam and cardboard was the hardest part) and making sure the battery was charged, I took it out for a ride on flat ground. At pedal assist level 1, the power assist seemed almost not there (but it is... this is a heavy bicycle). Level 2 was quite noticeable. When I hit level 3, it was "OMG!". 4 and then 5 were just crazy. I was able to reach 35 mph with no real trouble. I live in a hilly area, so I wanted a bike with plenty of power. The Swift Horse has it. Many bikes advertised as "1000 watt" are 1000 watts peak, with less continuous power. The Swift Horse is 1000 watts nominal, with a peak of 1600 watts. The difference is very noticeable. After topping up the battery, I took it up a HUGE hill... 4.5 miles of solid, heavy uphill road, some of it extremely steep. At level 3, I went up the entire thing at a comfortable, steady 20 mph. After the hill climb, and 4 more miles of flat ground, I still had 3 bars out of 5 on the battery meter. Very impressive after that enormous hill. A light rider on flat ground might actually get close to the claimed 80 mile range, and that is saying something. Most range claims are not very realistic. All in all I am extremely pleased with the bike. I gave the bike 5 stars because I could not give it 4 1/2. The only reason I am reluctant to give it a solid 5 stars is a lack of any sort of power lockout. There is no provision to turn the power off with a key. It is just a button. For many people this may not be a concern, but it is for me. So if security is an issue, I recommend going with the "Pro" version of the bike, which uses an NFC key to unlock the controller. I am upgrading! The Pro version also has an even larger battery. This is a lot of bike for the money, compared to the competition. I would buy it again.

I have ridden my ebike a few weeks now and put on over 150 miles to get a feel being on a bike again. It has been 40 years since I last rode one! I ride a couple times a week in area parks and residential areas for enjoyment. I don't use it for commuting. I chose this ebike because it has been on sold on Amazon for over 2 years, plus they have an internet site, Freeskycycle.com, for customer service and parts. It has desirable equipment such as Shimano gears, Samsung batteries 48V 25ah, MXUS 1000W hub motor (max output 1800), hydraulic disc brakes, 4" wide wheels, strongly built suspension fork and rear shock. The frame is robust and holds 300 lbs. But, be aware this bike is heavy. At least 90 lbs when including the battery. I have a bike rack with a ramp, 2" hitch, and capable of holding a 100+ pound ebike. Be prepared to spend a few hundred dollars more for a proper bike rack and hitch, if you cannot put inside your vehicle. As for the ride, it pulls my over 200 lb body easily with throttle only. I am able to RIDE with PAS 2 and peddling for over 30 miles with little more than 15% battery drain at a more or less constant 12 -13 mph. If I vary the mix with PAS 3 - 5, while peddling, then I still get 30 miles with 35% battery drain. I probably averaged 13 - 14 mph for the distance, including stopping and starting. So, I do think the performance I get represents what they advertise. I have not modified the controller. I am able to go a sustained 32mph in PAS 5 on level pavement. The limitation for me is the gearing. Beyond this speed, I cannot really add any more peddle effort to push faster because it could use more gears. Someone that can peddle faster will attain a higher speed. The brakes work flawlessly and you can lock the tires up easily, if needed. The bike rides comfortably. The large tires provide a strong grip and smooth out the rough pavement or ruts on the trails. The front fork is adjustable to how much softness or firmness you want. The rear shock is good for my weight, but may be stiff for a lighter rider. It can be replaced with an adjustable shock, if you want. The seat was actually decent, but I have upgraded to a premium seat for long rides. The fenders are a bit flimsy, but they do keep wheel dust or water from splashing up on you. It took about an hour for me to put the bike together and inspect all the pre-assembled parts. An instruction booklet was sent with the bike. I read it before assembling. I recommend having a second set of hands to help assemble this heavy bike. Freesky customer service contacted me through the Amazon message system and provided instructions to follow prior to ripping into the shipping box. Be sure to read these messages. I also had questions about the charger use and messaged them. They responded to all of them within 12 hours. I also called a customer service number and was followed up with a mobile phone text. Since we are on opposite ends of the day, the response came to me in the evening and I then had a live chat around 8 pm. His day was starting at 7 am. This ebike meets my needs for a ruggedly built trail and street bike. I do not use it as a commuter bike, but one that is able to take a bit of a pounding on park trails. It has some name brand parts that I can have serviced or fixed. The batteries are UL rated, not some unfamiliar off-brand.

Almost 1000 miles on this bike. It's smooth, very fast, comfortable and sleek. I'm in the PNW so lots of hills and it keeps up. The run times are a little exaggerated, you could probably get their max range on lvl 1 speed (out of 5) if you're 100 lbs and on completely smooth ground. I use it on big hills lvl 3 (20mph) with pedal assist and I get about 30 mile rage or so. I haven't run it completely out of battery and it would be a rough road ahead if I ever did this bike is super heavy and difficult to use without pedal assist. I would like to see some better value in the tires. I replaced those after only about 250 miles. I purchased other semi metallic breakpads and they all see to last the same amount. I seem to go through break pads every 250 miles or so but with steep hills it's the cost I guess. That being said breaking power is nice. And so are all the attachments like phone holder and rack/case for the back.

Cool Bike! I was pretty excited to get this, HOWEVER when I got it the battery and/or charger would not charge the battery. In short, the charger was damaged. I contacted the manufacturer and they were great and sent a new battery and charger. The bike rips and looks to be fairly well built -this is my 3rd ebike. The one thing I have noticed is how smooth and quiet this one shifts.
