  • Noise free and great build quality!!
These are great tubular upper control arms! Wanted some clearance for my new 2.5" Swayaway coilovers and these did just that. I was not expecting that these would also get rid of the front end shimmy at freeway speed and the benefit of solid handling on turns! Also the pivot bushings are nice and beefy just like the ball joints, have owned many Toyota trucks with all different expensive off road suspension parts and the quality of Freedom Off Road is just as good if not better than others! Price wise is a no brainier and the noise and low maintenance is the added bonus for me! Installing these in my garage was a breeze and just a tip, torque them when the tires are on the ground with the weight of your truck is on the suspension! You will not be disappointed if buying them. ... show more

  • Great Upper Control Arms for the Money
I have an 07 FJ Cruiser and it was time to replace my upper control arms. My FJ lifted 2" with 33" tires and since I lifted it, the steering seemed a little loose and wanted to wander with uneven sections in the road. After doing some research, I found out that lifting an independent front suspension vehicle changes the geometry of the suspension so that it can not get the correct amount of caster during an alignment. This accounts for the wandering feeling. These UCA's correct the geometry so the suspension can be aligned correctly. After I installed these UCA's and took it in for an alignment, my caster went from 2.5 positive caster to 4.7 positive caster. This took care of the wandering. The installation was super easy and everything fit up exactly. It took me about 3 hours to install both sides. One tip for FJ Cruiser installation, on the driver side, remove the battery and battery plate to remove the UCA bolt. As for value, I looked at stock OEM UCA's and they were around $500 for a set and did not correct for my lift. So, $400is a bargain. These things are super beefy too, much heavier duty than stock. They are not uni-balls. You can replace the ball joints and the ball joints have grease fitting as well. I've read that they work just as good on Tacomas too, pretty much the same suspension. I would definitely recommend for a lifted FJ. I don't know about FJ's that are stock height. ... show more

  • 04 4Runner 3in lift EMU springs Bilstein 5100
Pros : Right out of the box these are a well built upper control arms! I’m confident in there construction and know they will hold up to any bashing I will put them through. For the price they are a no brainer. So why not 5 stars? Look at the included photos. I bought this car for my son and as it’s an 04 I wanted to completely rebuild the suspension bushings and all. While I was at it decided to put a lift on it. I bought a complete front end control arm and bushing kit to install with a lift kit. You’ll note in the one photo the angle of the oem ball joint is just maxed out. That and the camber was way off. This made me more than a little uncomfortable and as a result I knew I needed to replace the upper control arms. After looking at $600+ control arms I landed on these. They advertise that they will work on lifts up to 3 inches. If you look at the photo you’ll notice that ball joint is still almost maxed out. These control arms did however correct my camber/alignment situation. If I had done a 2 inch lift I would give this product a five stars. But seen as the ball joint angle on a 3 inch lift is still a too extreme for my liking they get four stars. If you’re going with a 2 inch lift or just leveling the car out I highly recommend these control arms. If you’re going with a full 3 inch lift I would recommend something else. Update; I have been out to Death Valley 2 times since installing these arms. As expected they have taken some aggressive off roading with flying colors. I still stand by my initial review but want to give credit where credit is due. These are well made UCAs. ... show more

  • Very impressed so far
Installed on an 07 GX with an Eibach lift kit (spring perch on lowest setting) due to excessive angle on the stock upper ball joint. I looked at JBA but I felt that routinely greasing the bushings isn't something I wanted to be bothered with, and I worried about the adjustability of the ball joint being more of a liability than it was worth, and I wasn't doing some crazy monster truck build that made it necessary (I only lifted it because it didn't cost any more than a stock-height air suspension delete). Plus they're about $50 cheaper and were in stock, at least when I ordered mine. At 2" of lift, the ball joint angle is basically neutral which I'm very happy about. Seems to be of very good build quality. Doesn't come with the control arm mounting bolt & nut, so budget another $35 for those. But they come with replacement castle nuts and cotter pins for the ball joints. I'd recommend using a box wrench to loosen and fasten the nuts to avoid possibly breaking the bolts holding the brake line unions on the frame rails just so you can fit a socket in there. If the bolts break, there's no good way to access them to drill/tap/heli-coil/whatever and you probably don't want your brake lines flopping around. I'd also recommend having a grease gun handy because I couldn't tell if they were pre-greased. Installation was no harder than if you were replacing with oem replacement. They also fixed my steering wheel shimmy at highway speeds. Bonus! ... show more

  • Amazing value - perfect for my gx470 2" lift
Installed with ease. Only improvement they need to make is to include two washers per side that would go between the bushings and the bolt tube. I had some oversized laying around so you can see them clearly in the photo. Went from fully binding when torqued to moving decently by hand when torqued. Alignment turned out great and freeway manners, especially in minor turns or transitions has vastly improved. Before it felt like it would rather bite a little in turns or hook slightly. Tracks just right now. ... show more

  • Quality and affordable control arms
Solid product for the money. I was looking for something stronger than the stock upper control arms on my 5th gen 4runner, also something that wouldnt break the bank. There are a lot of choices on the market but I couldn't justify spending 600 plus on UCAs, I wasnt trying to build a baja rig. What I like the most about freedom offroads product is that the control arms are easy to service due to the replaceable and ball joint with the zerk fitting. The finish is very well done so I dont see these rusting anytime soon and the construction and welds are top notch. This isnt some cheap control arm thats going to break on you. Its built to last. I have about 10 trail rides on these arms along with 20k paved road miles. Not a single issue. If you are in the market for control arms that wont put a hole in your wallet, this is a perfect choice. If you have a lifted truck or suv and just want that better angle for the ball joints, or you plan to go offroading a lot. These arms will not let you down. I've recommended them to 3 friends of mine and they all are running them now and love them! ... show more

  • Worth the $$
The media could not be loaded. Clearly we painted ours red, but so far these are awesome. We installed brand new eibach stage 1 on our 4Runner, with 33x10.5x17 tires, no rubbing indicated. Alignment soon to come, but rides like a gem. Adding our winch and bumper soon as well, can’t wait to see how she handles up in the mountains. ... show more

  • Can’t go wrong. At least for my needs.
After reading all the reviews and seeing some negative and un-encouraging reviews. I decided to go ahead with the purchase. They appear to be very heavy duty with nice gussets and very clean welds. All the bushings and ball joints were very well installed and seem to be a very nice quality. The install went very easily only taking roughly 20 minutes per side by myself with minor hiccups along the way. They look great and gave me about a half inch of extra tire clearance from the front bumper so I no longer have a rubbing issue on the inner fender liner. Seeing as how I do not go extreme off-roading these will work out great for my over landing. The ball joints are replaceable as are the bushings so with that I now know that I will only have to replace the where items not the entire unit which makes them a great deal at half the price of SPC, icon, etc. I would recommend this to anyone who is in the market and doesn’t want to spend $600, $700, or $800. From what I can tell the freedom Offroad company seems to be a very decent quality as I have their 2 inch rear lift springs and now their front upper control arms I have been running the springs for over a year and they are great. ... show more

  • Absolutely improves caster on lifted 4Runner
Overall, pretty happy with these UCA’s. Install was very easy and they are beefy. My 2018 ORP has Eibach pro truck lift on 2nd setting(3.4”). I’m running a bumper. The ball joint angle after alignment is good. Was able to get 4.7 degrees with these. Everything else is in spec also. I highly recommend pumping a bunch of grease in these. I don’t believe mine had grease upon delivery. Have had no issues with them at all. Weird that their own representatives claim caster is not improved?? It 100% is. Was only getting 2.6 with stock UCA’s ... show more

  • VERY DISAPPOINTING....
DOESN'T WORK AS ADVERTISED WITHIN IN THE SPECS OF A 2in to 4 in LIFT ON A 2007 Toyota FJ CRUISER. Although these UCA's are built well, and easy to install, they didn't provide enough caster for my 2007 FJ CRUISER with a 3 1/2 lift with OME 2in springs & a 1.5 in lift with the Billy 5100's... Very very disappointing, especially since there supposedly good up to a 4in lift. Now I need to buy something else because of how bad the over steer is and instability at higher speeds. ... show more

I purchased these to compliment a 3 inch lift for my 5th gen 4runner. So far so good. These were pretty straight forward for a self install. Slid in correctly and fit well. Daily driving has not been an issue. Seem to be of the same quality of some others seen online just with a different sticker slapped on it. I’ll post an update after I take them off road. ... show more

  • Solid built, corrected my castor angle
Beefy pair of arms. Install was relatively straightforward but no instructions or torque specs included, even on their website. Just had to figure it out from some YouTube videos and other writeups. ABS lines were too tight so that took quite a bit of messing around to regain some slack. Instructions don't bother to mention you unbolt the bracket from the old, install on the new (would have been helpful) ... show more
