Was looking for an affordable over the ankle light weight hiking shoe and these fit the bill. Even though I'm not hiking through a forest with them. I need something that would provide a little more ankle support on the gravel, and dirt roads in the state game land area. They fit well a little loose in the ankle area, even with them laced up tight. But adequate room in the area of the metatarsal which I didn't have in another brand. I'm almost 70 so my feet have the normal issues such as bunions Lol. But a little work with a shoe stretcher fixed that condition. Other then the minor stuff I've pointed out I like them. Most of my walks are 6 miles in distance. I recommend good socks be worn for that type of event. So I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a half boot type shoe for work or casual wear.

Purchased as a gift, picked out by my teenage son who isn’t a “brand” junkie. Seem like a quality boot, time will tell, he’s happy with them this far. He debated as to the variety, two options - thick or thin shell. He went with thick to improve durability.

I work in an industrial setting that doesn't require me to wear safety toe shoes, but I walk up to 5 miles a day on concrete, gravel, and steel. So far, after 3 months, they are doing great. I have tried several different shoes, and they have held up the best. They wear like tennis shoes but have the durability of a boot. Love them. I order a black pair as well.

ive worn these a few times now, and for the price they arent bad. keep in mind my sole purpose for these boots is walking, jogging, hiking in the desert where I live. they are pretty true to size, they are comfortable if you dont lace them up tight. the grip of the boots are good as well. I think they will last me a while in the conditions i put them in. now these boots i dont think would last long in a harsh environment, or on work/job/construction sites. but for average hiking...or off-road footing, these are well worth the money.

I suggest ordering DR scholls sport insoles to make them more comfy. I always order insoles with my shoes these days. Saves my back. I wear these when I go shooting in the desert and they hold up very well and are comfortable. They’re strong enough to handle what you throw at them and they are a very good price if you ask me. I purchased the black waterproof pair and will be purchasing the brown pair soon. Highly recommend!
