I've purchased several of these multifocus glasses from Froster Grant. The lenses are always distortion free and equal to optometrist quality. This particular style is just a bit heavy compared to the plastic frames but highly recommended.

These are quality lenses that are really multifocal. They gradually change from no magnification at the top to whatever magnification you ordered. I purchased the 1.5 magnification. If what I'm looking at is out of focus, a slight tilt of my head brings the item into focus, or if in hand, I can raise or lower the item slightly. These are far better they bi-focals which switch from close to far and back completely or full reading glasses. With these, I can be sitting in front of the TV watching a show, and glance down at my phone to respond to an email or text. There is no momentary out of focus, my eyes adjust smoothly. My only complaint is that just after receiving the glasses, I was cleaning one lens and the rubber nose mount dropped to the floor. I stuck it back into the mount and squeezed the clamp a little tighter. I haven't had the problem occur again. For Foster Grants I would expect a little tighter quality control in production. However, I like how well these work, and I am purchasing a second pair. Now, if they could add auto tinting in sunlight, they would be perfect. UPDATE: One other problem I've found. The lenses are very soft and easily scratched. Because they are so much more expensive than fixed focal readers, I have become very careful in trying to not scratch them. I haven't tried polishing the scratches out, figuring that this would most likely screw up the multi-focal properties. It's time to order two more sets and being more careful with them so they last longer.

There is correction throughout the entire lens, though it's weaker at the top. But that is where you would expect to find no correction at all. Although these would work okay for desk work, switching between computer screen and documents in front of you, like readers, you need to remove them to see anything at a distance or even to look up which, to my mind, makes them ordinary readers. There are much better multi-focus readers available. Foster Grant make them, in fact. Even as readers/computer glasses, these are prone to reflections and glare as well. The frames are comfortable, seem well-built and look great. But with the lenses, the quality and functionality simply are not there.

These glasses are nothing like the readers one can pick up at almost any retail store. The bifocal part of the glasses work really well before buying these glasses I was switching between different strength readers not anymore

This is the third time I have purchased these readers. The first two times was at Walgreens. I was happy to see them on Amazon. These readers will last a very very long time. I purchased the 3.00 lens. I have never ever had any problems with breaking or the lenses falling out. My first 2 pairs I bought back in 2017. I bought the 3rd pair just to keep in my car. Not because I needed them.

I bought the single focus, cheap, glasses to keep around the house, but I keep coming back to these multi focus glasses. So I just gave up and bought like six pairs! My oldest pair I’ve had for probably four years not as comfortable for Driving, but great for cooking reading, watching TV at the house. You get used to the multifocal points, and it’s definitely worth the money compared to what you get at the eye doctor for hundreds more. Highly recommend!

I really liked the glasses, the quality, shape, fit, etc. But they did not work for me, assume the wrong strength. Really didn't provide instructions to figure out what strength to order. My doctor had told me I could use a +3 for close reading and a +1.5 for computer screen. So, I ordered a 2.5. Now I'm totally confused.
