  • The lenses are very low distortion, which makes wearing them much more comfortable than others.
I had a bad experience with prescription progressive glasses. After paying quite a lot for them, I found them very uncomfortable to wear, because I couldn't get used to the distortion. They made me queasy, even after wearing them every day for a few weeks. I gave up, and stayed with my single strength readers. That was about a year ago. I recently tried a pair of these foster grant "multifocus" readers - what a difference. These lenses are (nearly) distortion free, and the useable area is very wide - unlike the prescription glasses (from warby parker) which had a narrow "corridor" where the image was sharp. These glasses are lightweight, which also makes them physically comfortable as well as optically comfortable. As far as style, I think these are just OK - but fashion is very subjective. The range of frames offered with this feature is not very wide. The build quality is good, but not great. I don't expect these to last more than a year or so. But even with these issues, the lenses more than make up for it. They're just great, functionally speaking - especially in contrast to my expensive prescription glasses. Initially, I ordered the strength that I use for my regular readers. I found that this was not quite strong enough in the multifocus pair. I ordered another pair, a half diopter stronger- and they are perfect. They feel just like my regular readers now. Your mileage may vary. I was so impressed with this "multifocus" concept, I decided to buy a couple of other brands of this type of glasses. The other manufacturers' glasses are less expensive by about $10 - $15. The first pair arrived today. I wore them for a few hours, and they were ok - but they also distorted the lower half of my field of vision a bit. The distortion was significantly less than my prescription glasses, but significantly more than these Foster Grant lenses. I have another pair from another manufacturer arriving in a few days, and I'll update this review if the next pair performs better than these foster grant multifocus glasses. ... show more

  • Quality readers are worth paying extra.

Solid, comfortable frames and quality lenses. More expensive than cheap readers, but worth the price. Your eyes will thank you!

  • Would be perfect if top area was 0 magnification
Color: Navy Blue/Transparent Magnification Strength: 1.25 x
I needed some magnification for reading and computer work, but my distance vision is perfect. I previously tried prescription glasses, but they we're horrible -- the reading area was pea sized and you had to turn your head back/forth to read a book or paper. The part that I love about these glasses is the large, edge-to-edge reading area (i.e., no more head turning to read). The computer area is very nice too. The one part I don't like is the top (distance) area. I wish that was 0 magnification, then these would be perfect. Foster Grant -- maybe you should offer a model like that. Other than that, the quality seems very good -- as good as the lower-end ones I could get from a prescription glasses store, and these have the extra coatings that you would have to pay additional for at a glasses store. I knocked off 1 star for the distance magnification, but, IMO, they are still a good value at this price point. ... show more

Works great that I can see close up and then look up and can look up, and can see clearly.

  • Bait and switch, shame on you, amazon
Color: Navy Blue/Transparent Magnification Strength: 2 x
Product was sold as new, but was obviously an open-box return. The really shady part was that it had an Amazon tamper-evident seal. So I couldn't tell that the glasses were used until I broke the seal. The glasses are also terrible. They have a lot of ghosting and halos around light sources. There is a lot of diffraction. I had hoped that they would be a universal solution, but they aren't good for anything. ... show more

  • They work!
Color: Navy Blue/Transparent Magnification Strength: 2.75 x
Put them on my face and never thought about them until -- After wearing these every day -- I realized how well they work. The computer doesn't need to be pulled closer or pushed away. Getting up and moving around -- I forget that I'm wearing reading glasses. No need to bob my head to find the focus. I just forget they're there. Great! ... show more
