  • The lenses are very low distortion, which makes wearing them much more comfortable than others.
I had a bad experience with prescription progressive glasses. After paying quite a lot for them, I found them very uncomfortable to wear, because I couldn't get used to the distortion. They made me queasy, even after wearing them every day for a few weeks. I gave up, and stayed with my single strength readers. That was about a year ago. I recently tried a pair of these foster grant "multifocus" readers - what a difference. These lenses are (nearly) distortion free, and the useable area is very wide - unlike the prescription glasses (from warby parker) which had a narrow "corridor" where the image was sharp. These glasses are lightweight, which also makes them physically comfortable as well as optically comfortable. As far as style, I think these are just OK - but fashion is very subjective. The range of frames offered with this feature is not very wide. The build quality is good, but not great. I don't expect these to last more than a year or so. But even with these issues, the lenses more than make up for it. They're just great, functionally speaking - especially in contrast to my expensive prescription glasses. Initially, I ordered the strength that I use for my regular readers. I found that this was not quite strong enough in the multifocus pair. I ordered another pair, a half diopter stronger- and they are perfect. They feel just like my regular readers now. Your mileage may vary. I was so impressed with this "multifocus" concept, I decided to buy a couple of other brands of this type of glasses. The other manufacturers' glasses are less expensive by about $10 - $15. The first pair arrived today. I wore them for a few hours, and they were ok - but they also distorted the lower half of my field of vision a bit. The distortion was significantly less than my prescription glasses, but significantly more than these Foster Grant lenses. I have another pair from another manufacturer arriving in a few days, and I'll update this review if the next pair performs better than these foster grant multifocus glasses. ... show more

  • Quality product.
Color: Navy Blue/Transparent Magnification Strength: 1.75 x
Very pleased with my reader glasses. I had cataract surgery then needed reader glasses. Kept getting inexpensive ones at the dollar store / grocery store and they would only last a week before breaking. Again, I would recommend getting Foster Grants.

  • Went from handsome looking glasses to hand me downs
I've bought many Foster Grant readers and can't say enough how awesome the three different focus levels are. This blue pair was my favorite until 2 weeks into purchase I accidentally dropped them outside on the cement. The blue paint chipped off easily on the frames and they now look weathered and old. I still use them at home because the lenses are still awesome, but would not wear out. Just be aware the Braydon's have a coat of paint. ... show more

  • Great Deal for Quality Glasses, Fixed My Problem
Color: Gunmetal/Transparent Magnification Strength: 1 x
I’m pretty new to this world, as I just started to notice my near vision deteriorating about a year ago. I’ve been experimenting with various readers since then, but I’m now at the point where I want to wear glasses most of the time since I’m tired of constantly having to take reading glasses on and off to be able to look at my watch or my phone or whatever. I tried a couple bifocal readers, but I was not willing to get used to looking at that line all the time I’m really impressed that I was able to find some transition lenses like this for such a good price. They’re good quality construction, really comfortable to wear for hours. They’re serving exactly the function I need, where I can now mostly see well at a distance keeping them on while still being able to see up close very comfortably. A couple warnings (which I’ve seen mentioned in other reviews): 1) there is a slight reddish tint to them that some people might not like. It doesn’t bother me at all. 2) The top of the lens isn’t just completely pass-through. There is slight magnification for that part, too. I think it would be better for me if it didn’t do that, but it’s so little that it doesn’t really mess with my distance vision too much, and sometimes it even helps me, like when I’m watching TV at a midrange distance, then it’s ever so slightly better than just watching without glasses. So for me it’s a decent tradeoff. ... show more

  • The color I got was purple!!! They were supposed to be navy blue.
Color: Navy Blue/Transparent Magnification Strength: 1.25 x
They fit fine, come in good condition. Multi focus as said. But the came in the color purple. 😒 .... I would return them because its definitely not my favorite color, but I don't want to risk getting the same purple color glasses. They are advertised as Navy blue. So if you don't mind purple, they work and function well. ... show more
