My ophthalmologist recommended buying progressive readers when I complained to him that I was constantly changing glasses for different situations, such as when I am using my camera and constantly switching between reading the viewing screen in the back to the subject of my photo. I love the fact that there is clear glass at the top, the middle of the lens is for reading material that is maybe an arm’s length away (for instance a desktop computer screen,) and the bottom lens (you pick the magnification when you order) is for reading close up. The design is attractive and contemporary. They fit well and seem to be very well made. After reading several reviews of other less expensive glasses, I decided that these would be worth the higher price. I bought the 2.5 multi-focus glasses for sewing. Well-made, and sturdy glasses. I have another pair of foster grants multi focused, and I use them for driving. They’re great. I bought these foster grant multi focus glasses for up-close viewing. I gave them four stars for the fact that the area for close-up vision, is minimal and at the far bottom of the lens which does not allow very much space to see something up close. It feels unnatural to position your eyes that far down in your scope of vision and is not comfortable for head and neck position either for long time viewing your phone or reading for more than a few minutes. Overall, I really like the quality and the clarity through the lens on these glasses. But wish that they could increased the area you need to see up close and less percentage on the multi-focus area. ... show more

I need reading glasses after cataract surgery and I was in visual limbo while waiting for my eyes to heal before getting prescription glasses. I have trouble with dizziness when using cheap drugstore glasses so I decided to try these multi focus ones. These glasses are better than I expected, especially for the price. I can see well both up close and at computer distance. The tops of the lenses are for farther away, but only up to about 5 feet - conversation distance. I still have to remove them for walking around or driving. I have gotten a couple of compliments on the appearance. They are holding up well after several weeks of wear, and I tend to drop my glasses and shove them in my purse, etc. I would purchase these again. ... show more

Several good things about these glasses: good fit, comfortable, good near vision, including the mid-magnification for computer screens. The reason I rated it a 3 is because the far vision, which is supposed to be clear/no vision adjustment, is not clear, and in fact significantly less clear than not using any glasses. I got these after cataract surgery where implanted lenses corrected for far vision, and I dislike constantly putting glasses on and off to adjust to near vision need. ... show more

Overall, I like these and get A LOT of compliments on how they look on me. Maybe I just have that kind of face, the kind that makes you puke, so they make me less ugly! HA HA! Anyway, all joking aside, I actually purchased another pair which i will send to a lab and have custom sunglasses made. The only disadvantage is when you increase the power of the reader portion (lower) you also increase the top portion. Its OK for reading my monitor but when I look further away, things are a bit more blurry than a lower power. So, I may send my original frames in to get custom lenses as well. I like the way these glasses look and I like the color. They are light and the progressive lenses are perfect for reading, using the computer or wearing all the time. I have had to buy many many pairs of them because they break anytime between a week and a month of having them. The failure is always the same, the frame splits and the lens then falls out. They are cheap glasses and are not sturdy at all. I tried other glasses but could not find one I like how they looked when I wore them as much as these and I assumed perhaps I was just not careful enough so I would buy another pair but no, they are just poorly made and break very very easily. I have bought my last pair and will be looking elsewhere from now on. ... show more

I’ve had other foster grant progressives and they have broken quickly. Keeping my fingers crossed on these because they look great, are very comfortable and work really well. I got them at 2.5 even though my reading is better at 2.75. But I can use these for reading if it’s not too long or the type isn’t really small, then for computer, face to face, watching tv and daytime driving. Pretty damn good! I have a narrow face and some of the big lense glasses overwhelm my face. Not these. They’re flattering. ... show more
