Update: Seller has stepped up to fix the problem so I’m updating my rating because they did what was right. This looks nice, the acrylic is very well protected and really the hardest part of the whole setup was peeling the film off each piece, but if you love to do that sort of thing, you’re in for a treat. Putting it together made me realize it wasn't going to last. It's held together by rubberbands. The slightest bump and it falls apart. The slightest pressure on it cracks the acrylic. I should know, it's already broken and in the garbage.

I wouldn't buy this again. The clear case is as cheap and thin. So are 95% of the other cases for sale. I still use it but I dare not move it around much. I dusted it off recently and the plastic cracked in one of the corners. Spend the money for a nice one because this one will eventually let you down and maybe even fall apart and scratch your helmet. Otherwise, this was well packaged and went together easily. Just be very careful during assembly since the clear plastic is thin and fragile. Update: seller offered to refund. I accepted. Appreciated .

I have an Ernie Banks sighed baseball hat. I got it for my dad. He kept it in the top of his closet in a plastic shoe box to protect. I inherited it when he passed away. I wanted an easy and affordable way to display it in my great room. This box worked great. My only concern is you have to assemble it, and I’m not real good with directions. So I got a more mechanically inclined friend to help me. You don’t really need any tools.20 minutes to put it together. It’s now proudly displayed in my great room

This display case looks pretty good and was relatively easy to put together, but is very lightweight and somewhat fragile. The acrylic glass pieces really only stay together correctly when they are all connected and the case is set down. Even trying to move the box after it’s assembled is sketchy because the glass doesn’t lock into place, only sits loosely within a groove on the bottom so you have to slowly pick it up from the base. Alongside this, after removing the protective film the acrylic has a tendency to attract dust because of static friction. Just a couple hours after assembling the case and it’s covered in dust and pieces of fluff that were floating around. All in all, it does what it’s supposed to do, and I think will work well for our purposes. A standard size ball cap fits nicely. I may end up glueing the side pieces to the base to help keep it together long term. You get what you pay for I guess.
