A great first-birthday gift with years of imaginative play potential
Color: Grey
I purchased this from an Amazon registry as a first-birthday gift. As a longtime parent, this was one of the gifts that immediately appealed to me because I have always liked simple toys that encourage kids to use their imagination rather than only having one specific way to play. We gave it along with a large set of colorful ball-pit balls, which made a really fun and eye-catching gift presentation. I especially like that this is something a one-year-old can begin enjoying now but has the potential to grow with the child for years. What I like: • Soft foam pieces make sense for a younger child who is just beginning to climb, crawl and explore • Ball-pit section can be filled with balls or used as a soft contained play area with other toys • Pieces can be rearranged into many different configurations • Can be used for climbing, building, forts and imaginative play • Pieces can even become pretend furniture or part of whatever the child is currently playing • Large pieces tend to draw children into the activity • Fun enough that adults and older siblings can get involved too • Encourages active and imaginative play rather than having only one purpose • I can see this continuing to be used well beyond the baby/toddler stage • Especially nice for a growing family because younger siblings can eventually use it too • Makes a substantial and unusual first-birthday gift • Nice option for parents who prefer open-ended toys Things to be aware of: • Ball-pit balls are not included, so those need to be purchased separately if you want to use it that way • The pieces arrive very compressed for shipping • The package was much smaller than I expected when it arrived • The foam needs time after opening to expand back into its intended shape • The individual pieces looked somewhat smaller in person than I expected from the listing photos • This is the type of toy that will need a dedicated play/storage area once everything is fully expanded Overall: I was very happy with this as a first-birthday gift. I love toys that can change with a child's age and imagination, and this has so many possible uses beyond simply being a ball pit or climbing set. A younger child can crawl, climb and sit among the pieces, while older children can turn them into forts, structures, pretend furniture or whatever fits the game they are playing that day. Because I purchased it as a gift, I cannot speak to how it will hold up after months of daily use, but from a gift-giver's perspective I thought it was a great choice. It was fun to give, immediately appealing when paired with colorful ball-pit balls, and has much more long-term play potential than many toys intended specifically for a first birthday. ... show more

Perfect for my 1.5 yr old
Color: Stars
We’ve been really happy with this climbing set! The foam is soft but sturdy, and the different pieces can be rearranged in several ways to keep it interesting. Our toddler loves climbing, crawling, and playing in the ball pit area. It’s a great size for indoor play and gives him something active to do without taking up a huge amount of space. Definitely a great purchase for a busy toddler! ... show more

Fun indoor playset for toddlers
This foam playset is really cute and a great way for toddlers to stay active indoors. The pieces are soft but still sturdy, and my little one enjoys climbing and crawling over them. I like that it gives them something fun to do without taking up too much space. Just keep in mind that the balls are not included. ... show more

Not worth it
Color: Multicolored
Not the best quality. Is really really small and just looks so worn. The foam isn’t even that great either

It's nice, not the best there is

I'd like to start by saying the fabric quality seems really nice. It's soft, seems durable, and easy to wash. I'm disappointed in the size though. It's smaller than the others I have seen so my babe will outgrow it faster. As for the ball pit, it's cool! Probably only need about 200 balls to fill it. (I got 400 and have A LOT left over) ... show more

I was honestly so excited for this to arrive because I couldn’t wait to see it in person and let my little one enjoy it. I didn’t even wait—I opened the box and set it up as soon as it arrived because I wanted to see how it would look in my living room. It looks even cuter than I expected! The foam is soft and comfortable, and I love that the pieces can be arranged in different ways for climbing, crawling, and playing. It’s such a fun addition to our home, and I can already tell my little one is going to have so much fun with it. Definitely a great purchase! ... show more

I really like that the pieces can be arranged in different ways. It seems like a great way to keep her entertained while she plays safely.
