TLDR Version for the ADHDers: Worked just fine for my Gemeinhardt 3SB. Sometime in the very late "nineteen hundreds" (as my young daughter likes to say) my parents surprised my middle school self with a Gemeinhardt 3SB. In band kid world, it was the equivalent of pulling up in the high school parking lot in a brand new, candy apple red 3000GT. So rad. Anyway, as a lifelong ADHDer, I did the typical thing and babied it for a few months or a year or who knows before, well, not doing the babying anymore. By the time I was in high school, I was marching piccolo and rarely had my flute on the field - until lo and behold one day in around 1998 I did. I'm not sure when it happened, but the headjoint screw cap removed itself and rolled off like that poor meatball, never to be seen again... My 3SB was no longer whole...... The sadness was deep for moments. Years went by and then it came time to honor my band director from those same very late nineteen hundreds with a Mr. Holland's Opus style fete. Finally ready to repair her back to her original glory, I pulled her down from the shelf, ordered this screw cap to heal that old scar, and even though it isn't solid silver, it blended just perfectly. I dont know if there are different sizes to these, but I got this to replace a part on my 6th graders flute. It worked perfectly.. came quick, and fit the flute.. worth every penny.
