I love this muffler kit for my 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3l crew cab! The sound is aggressive yet not too loud running all 8 cylinders with my AFM disabler. However, there are a couple installation items that could have been better. For one. A new clamp at the catalytic converter should have been included along with the kit. The old clamp just didn't tighten enough at maximum tightness. I improvised with exhaust wrap under the original clamp. Second, the self tapping screws just didn't give me a feel that they would hold. I tapped threads and secured the included hanger with 3/8 grade 8 bolts with pressure washers for more piece of mind. In addition, I added two 14 inch exhaust swivel straps with new 4.3 inch rubber hangars (utilizing the 3 inch center to center holes. They are longer than the original) from the stock support to new 14 inch swivel straps secured to the new Flowmaster with two 2-1/2 inch exhaust pipe clamps as in the picture. The 14 inch strap closest to the rear passenger tire needs to be cut down about an inch, an easy task with a cut off disc and grinder. I feel the exhaust pipes are fully secured. Install was quick once the old system came off. fitment lined up well with my factory steps. As far as for noise it is louder then stock but no so loud to annoy the neighbors. Great price in my opinion as well

Sounds awesome (except during V4 mode), the gunmetal tips look awesome on a dark colored paint, especially with some running boards in front of the tips. NOT an easy install though, you do have to drill into the frame to locate and mount a new exhaust hanger, plus the front exhaust clamp will probably need to be cut off from rusting hardware (as mine was), and the factory exhaust will need to be cut in half as well to remove it. So unless you're savvy with that kind of stuff, plan for a shop install. All in all, great exhaust though. ... show more

I knew this would take longer to install in my driveway without a lift available, and working with a floor jack and jack stands. Once I got the old exhaust out, I found that it required some percussive maintenance to get the dual tail pipes into the muffler outlets, as the bracket was welded slightly out of alignment. Once that was done it was just a matter of aligning it all and tightening it down. As many others have mentioned, the "self tapping" screws for the rear hanger are total crap. They are softer than the frame steel, and strip the threads right off even when properly drilled. Super glue, duct tape or zip-ties would be a better choice. I just drilled the frame and put some 1/4-20 through bolts in it and it's solid. The sound is a really nice, low rumble. Not too loud at all and no silly rappy noise or resonant drone at cruise. I will have to drive it more to evaluate any perceived performance gains. I have always been happy with Flowmaster's sound. Overall, very nice, except for the crappy hardware. ... show more

This exhuast installed pretty fast and easy. The only issue I had was that the self threading bolts were softer than my frame and they melted rather than thread into the holes I drilled. It was an easy fix though. I drilled the holes bigger and tapped them for 3/8" cap bolts. I love the sound, it's aggressive when on the gas but quiet at idle. I didn't want to annoy my neighbor too much in the winter while warming the truck up. Over all I'm very pleased and would install this again. ... show more

2015 GMC Sierra Crew Cab with Long Tube Headers. Sound is just what I was looking for at idle and driving around town. Drone is horrible at 65 mph and higher.
