  • This is how the 5.7 V8 should sound
Style: Base Product
2012 Tundra max cab. Very well made and simple to install. While it's night and day difference in sound, it's not as loud as some people are claiming. Granted the stock exhaust is virtually silent but this is how a big V8 should sound in a pick up truck. It's quite tame up to 1/4 throttle and gets progressively louder when you get on it. It has a nice rumble on start up and sounds awesome in a tunnel or a parking garage. It's noticable at highway speed but not obnoxious. My truck is from Texas so it is rust free and well maintained plus I've been working on my own cars for 30 plus years. It took me two hours to take the old system down and hang the new setup. I used silicone spray on all the rubber hangers and on the new clamp bolts. Also I used a DeWalt 1/2" impact. I did it on the ground on a creeper in the rain, it was extremely easy. Although it was a bit pricey, I've used Flowmaster in the past and have hundreds of thousands of miles of good experiences. I did snap a bolt on the tip clamp but that was just carelessness with the impact gun, fortunately they included extras. I'm not doing any performance mods or off roading but technically speaking increasing your exhaust to a large dual setup is essential and the first step. I wish there was an X pipe as the muffler is a simple two in two out but I understand that it's much more complicated to get an X stuffed underneath. All in all I'm very satisfied, it's very aggressive, turns heads and should last a very long time ... show more

  • Amazing sound and easy to install
Style: Base Product
Installation was very simple. From unboxing, uninstalling stock and then installing this system took me 3 hours. Mostly because I didn't have the right fitting sockets and had to improvise. The Sound: Truthfully nothing I can say here is as good as hearing it for yourself...It is a deep sound with a low rumble while idling and accelerating normally. It growls at you when you start your vehicle. Step on it and it roars to life with incredible noise. You definitely need to watch YouTube videos to get an idea but they don't represent exactly how loud it is. Like others say, it's right on the verge of being 'too loud'. I could see where taking a road trip for more than 6 hours could get a bit annoying with that 'drone' rumble while cruising. But honestly, it's something you'd get used to after the first hour. It will definitely set off car alarms as you drive by as I've already set off a few. The Install: I have a 2015 Tundra SR5 4x2 Crewmax. As I mentioned, it took about 3 hours to install. My install has the pipes coming out of the passenger and driver side. I tried as hard as I could to clamp down the pipes that curved around the spare tire but could not get them tight enough to stop the exhaust from twisting out of position after driving (Driver Side). I ended up having to put a couple of welds on the driver side pipe to keep it in position. If you can't get it tight enough, find a friend w/ a welder as it only took about 5 minutes to do the welds. It still allows me to remove the exhaust and return it to stock even though I welded it in two places. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I did the install with the rear of my truck on ramps. Probably not necessary but nice to have that extra room. Make sure you have the deep well sockets and some open ended wrenches. I am used to working on vehicles and do most of my own work but even if you have no experience at all, this would be easy to install. If you want a loud, head turning, awesome sounding beast of an exhaust on your Tundra, I highly recommend this system! ... show more

  • Nice purchase! Easy install
Style: Base Product
This is my initial review of this exhaust system, Overall installation took me 3 hours, that's including the removal of the old exhaust and full completion of this one. The removal of the old system took me about an hour in itself. The bolts were VERY weathered and did not wedge. I ended up almost stripping one and having to call it quits. HOWEVER, my luck prevailed and all 4 bolts came out of the initial exhaust without ruining any of them. Once that was offf the Flowmaster system was VERY easy to assemble. The instruction for the extra hanger that needs to be installed were somewhat vague, but I figured it out. My suggestion if someone is confused is to line up he exhaust pipe that gets hung by it and then see where it's supposed to be placed. The clamps on the piping are not the best, I'm thinking of putting spot welds on to hold them because I've noticed that even after I put a lot of force on them my passenger side fell slightly. Overall, easy install. Initial startup was AMAZING. The growl and tone of the exhaust is amazing! I only revved up to 3000 rpm since it was late and I didn't want to disturb neighbors, but it sounded clean and rasp free and mean! There is a nice growl while cruising at city speeds and nice in cab sounds. I have not been on the highway yet so I'll update after I see how that sounds. As far as noise level, I do not see how people are calling this in the "too loud" category, the system is not at all "redneck" loud which was my fear. It has a nice mean sound without being crazy loud. I honestly expected it to be a lot louder after reading the reviews. But after install it's exactly what I want and I think the TRD exhaust would have been to tame for me. ... show more

  • A definite must have
Style: Base Product
2019 Toyota tundra 5.7 4x4 This definitely unlocks the power of the the almighty 5.7, I’ve noticed immediate better performance, throttle response and acceleration. Sound good and ballsy, everyone is impressed. Along with this I also changed the changed out the stock air filter putting an enhanced air flow TRD filter and a TRD airflow accelerator. Do these and promise you will NOT recognize your truck. ... show more
