This American Thunder system features all mandrel-bent aluminized steel tubing flowing into a specially designed Super 40 Series performance muffler with dual 2.50-inch tailpipes finished off with a pair of large 3.00-inch polished stainless steel tips. The system delivers a moderately aggressive exterior sound with a moderate interior tone and is suited to the enthusiast who wants their performance to be heard. Like all Flowmaster systems, the benefits include improved throttle response, power and mileage. These are loud and make my truck sound like it should. Installation was easy on my 2005 Ram 2wd, just pull off the old one and bolt on using old rubbers and new (included) hardware. I like the look of the tips they don't stick out too much and fit with my step sides. They are suggest to be welded but I am keeping my stock incase I need them again because they have a nice sound but they may cause some unwanted attention from cops so better to be safe and have the stock as a backup. ... show more

Had the same muffler on my ram 1500 previous to installing (super 40). But had it dumped after the axle. So I decided to get a nice cleaned up look. Hardest part of the installation was getting the old exhaust out. But after that me and my coworker had the new system installed in about 45 min. Sounds excellent on a hemi.     • Tight fit on the cat outlet, but it gives the truck a nice growl now

This was very straight forward to install. The only issue I ran into was getting the 3 inch inlet pipe onto the cat outlet pipe. I had to to do some sanding on the outlet pipe and cut a small line down so the pipe would compress enough to get the new pipe over it. Other than that it was snap, I had it on and working in under 2 hours. Now my truck has a nice growl to it and the dual tips poking out the side looks sharp. Recommended all around ... show more

This flowmaster 17398 catback is so easy to install and sounds pretty good a little more growl than stock if its all the work you do. I put this on my 04 ram 15 took me 10 mins. Looks really nice sits infront of my pass rear wheel keeping it safe incase i ever back into something.

This is my second exhaust system on my '05 Dodge Ram w/hemi. Sounds great, but pipe fit to factory doesn't fit well. I ended up taking mine to my garage to have it welded in place. The sound is great on the hemi. Nice low rumble at idle and screams when you stomp on it.

After some modification I fit it onto my single-cab short bed, loud and mean and just looks cool. Really great price too. UPDATE about a year ago the welds on the hanger (by the tips) broke off and left a huge hole in the exhaust. I removed the muffler entirely but will be reinstalling today with some cutting and modifications. ... show more
