The Florsheim Imperial was always a better than average shoe back when shoes were made all over the U.S. I saw these in black and thought "uh oh". The Floesheim retailer does not have these and the guy at Florsheim can't tell me who has them. I took a chance on Amazon. The shoes fit just like a 10.5 D is supposed to. Amazing! Stiff, shiny leather. They cut under both ankles and were close around the ball of the foot for a few days just like they were when you could buy them back in the '70's. Preventative bandaid on the left heel for only one day. Two weeks later I have great looking, broken in shoes that actually fit. My feet aren't tired and overworked after walking around the office all day. I only wish they were made in USA. Nevertheless, the shoe has twice the character of the rubberized footwear so commonplace these days. Thank you Amazon for a great price on a real pair of shoes. ... show more

I have a pair of burgundy Florsheim Imperials from the 1980's that still look great. (been re-soled a couple of times over the years.) Ordered the black eee from Amazon and a cognac pair directly from Florsheim. Good to see they still make a high quality shoe. The leather is very stiff (hence, the quality), so they need some time to relax and get broken in. Cedar shoe trees are highly recommended. ... show more

This is a well made shoe if you disregard the fact that it is corrected leather. It's a timeless, masculine design that will compliment your office wear. They're pretty stiff upon first wear, but will break in after a few uses and become surprisingly comfortable.

It's good to see that Florsheim is still around and making an excellent quality wingtip shoe. All leather uppers, including the inside lining, and with a leather (replaceable) sole. I am retired and live six days a week in sneakers, but for church and special events, this is a sharp pair of shoes to have, and they will undoubtedly give me many years of excellent servive. ... show more

I had ordered these shoes from a different purveyor in my "normal size" - 10, but felt they were too large. Would recommend going down 1/2 a size from your regular. I have a medium width. Since these (super cool) shoes are a bit of an investment and will likely last a long, long time - just an FYI on the size thing. ... show more

Bought these shoes expecting a great fit and high quality shoe. Took them out of box, then walked about 50 yards, before realizing they were a size too big. Did not expect any trouble. I even immediately put the shoes in the protective bags provided. No sign of any wear, but for only a few scuffs on the wooden shoe bottom. Being an honest guy, I did not try and make the shoes apppear unworn. I guess I could have used some sandpaper and oilve oil to make these tiny scuffs disappear. But I have never had a problem returning anything to Amazon. Until now. Shoes.com is a ripoff. ... show more
