I wouldn't add it to my smoothie but it appears to be quite safe to polish items that might find their way to your mouth.(silverware). I used this with a rotary tool on polishing the internals on a pistol trigger job. It works wonders if you take your time. You only need to use very little of the polish to accomplish your task. I bought this to remove rust spots from my new sink fixture. Simple application. Rub on and rub off. It's been about a month and there's no sign of any rusting. Be careful. I dropped the bottle and it cracked. I hope it keeps.
