I just moved into a new house and my garage was stacked with a lot of various things taking up valuable floor space. I’m also in an HOA and I cannot have a storage shed or store anything outside, so space is precious. I just installed this product at two garage locations. I had eight tires taking up floor space that I really wasn’t sure how to store them. I decided to take a chance and installed one set of shelves. After the install I essentially did a chin-up and was pleasantly shocked that the shelving held me. I weigh 225 pounds. I stacked all the tires and am thrilled they are off the garage floor! I’m not quite sure how I’ll use the other shelf, but I’ll definitely put it to good use. These were pretty darn easy to install too. I used the provided lags and attached the brackets into studs. It only took me about twenty minutes per set. Here are pics showing my stored tires and the other shelf that is still empty. This is five-stars all the way!

I decided to upgrade the "temporary" shelving I installed 5+ years ago. After reading the negative reviews, I was a little leary about ordering. I ordered one box of 4' shelving (2x48"x24") to place over my work bench. I figured if it wasn't what I was looking for in terms of quality and ease of installation, I could return it. Carrying the box from the front porch to the garage on the other side of the house told me that this was a heavy-duty product. Packaging is sturdy and well thoughtout. As I already knew where the studs were, I used neither the template nor the level. With the previous shelving I used a stud finder, a tape measure, and a 2' level. The previous shelving was "L" brackets and plywood, and due to the size of the brackets, the shelves were only 16" deep. The new shelving gives me 50% more storage space and I feel adds value to the home. I used the brackets as a template to determine where to drill the holes. Instead of using a box or open-end wrench, I used a ratchet, short extension, and 1/2" socket. Much quicker. I was so satisfied with the first two shelves that I ordered three more boxes and installed two 12' runs down one side of my garage. Those I installed yesterday. I have encountered only two issues. First, of 16 shelf units, one has a slightly (and I mean slightly) bent "wire". I probably could have bent it back but since it does not effect the functionality of the shelf, I left it alone. If you don't know it's there, you wouldn't notice it. Of the 48 screws, three were a tad too large for for the 1/2" socket and requred a 13mm socket which I didn't have. I did have, however, a 13mm box end wrench that worked just fine. Whether or not the brackets are square hasn't been an issue. One or two may have been off, but again, functionality and appearance are not effected. If you are any kind of DIY person, you should have no problems with installation. I'm 69 years old and did all of this by myself in just a few hours. Today I ordered two more boxes to replace shelving on the other side of the garage. I recommend this product highly.

I am so happy we went with the Fleximount Storage Racks. The depth and length are great and its such a space saver. We have fought over keeping wood in the garage and with it off the floor and out of the way I am so thrilled I got these because I still have ample storage. They are so strong that I can literally hang on them. The template is a life saver once you figure out where the studs are. I did switch up the spacing because our framing must have been off but I went with 24" and then 16" on the template. I LOVE that it includes a level and makes marking the holes so quick and painless. The velcro is great because I don't have to be locked into where they exactly fit. I actually moved it over slightly once I took a step back and it was quick to adjust. I feel like I have just added 4 feet into the garage space and can park the car further in. My husband was impressed that I did it all myself (surprised him with getting the wood off the ground). Since I started doing DIY projects I had taken over a big footprint in the garage and its now so organized and I am so happy with these shelves. Another thing i liked is how the grids are 3 ft in length. If you wanted to you could create 4 shelves instead of 2. I actually thought about switching it up but I think a desk would fit nicely or a shoe bench below. I have just started getting used to power tools and the drill is not intimidating to me anymore. I really appreciate that they tell you which drill bit to use. I am literally learning as I go and anyone could install these shelves. A wrench ratchet does speed up the process too!

While I've given this set of metal shelves 4 stars, I should say that I'm quite satisfied with them and would purchase them again. They use three chunky lag bolts on each brace, so the shelving is very firmly attached to the wall studs. The shelves sit in three grooves on each brace. The shelves are kept from popping out of the grooves (though hard to imagine a scenario where they would) with two velcro straps. I'm not so keen on the velcro straps, but they serve the purpose; and in any case, as long as you have something on the shelves, they're not likely to go anywhere. This was very easy to install. The instructions say that a minimum of two people are required for the installation. I'm a small woman and had no trouble installing them by myself. Just FYI, I used a 13/64 drill bit and a 13mm socket wrench. These particular shelves have the virtue of being attached to the brackets anywhere along the shelves. It may be best if shelving can be centered over the two brackets, but my set up didn't allow for that--which is what attracted me to these shelves. There are lots of large hooks that are very handy. The hooks do not attach securely to the shelves and I suspect will come off as soon as I lift whatever is hanging on them. I will probably take some vice grips and close the top part of the hook around a shelving rail so it won't do that. I've taken off one star because of (a) the way the hooks attach (or rather, fail to attach) and (b) the use of a velcro strap to secure the shelves to the brackets. Even so, it's a fine set of shelves, and I really appreciate having all of those large capacity hooks. I've included a picture, in which the two bottom shelves on the left are of this particular shelving unit with which I've used 7 of the 8 provided hooks.

Sturdy, large, easy install. With just a drill, pegfinder, and whatever the twisty wrench thing is called I got it on the wall in less than an hour and it's as solid as a rock. Im not very bright so im glad it was this easy

This is very heavy duty! I wanted a deep shelf for the garage and this was easy to install with good instructions. My studs are 16” apart so I didn’t use the template for width spacing, but I did use it for the vertical lag screw placement. I centered each bracket on my wall studs. It’s tricky when the shelving is in three foot sections so I picked the best two studs under each 3’ section. The Velcro ties do hold the shelving tight to the brackets. If your wall isn’t flat going across you will need to adjust how far in you put the lags since there isn’t much give forward or backward on the bracket slots. I haven’t put things on it yet but with three big lags for each bracket it feels like a person could do pull-ups on it.
