I just finished a two month camping trip during which I regularly (and successfully) fished using grasshoppers as bait. This product worked great, with one problem. I fish in mountain streams and brooks that are surrounded by vegetation. The material unfortunately does not hold up as well as it could. Snags tore two holes that released my 'hoppers. I was able to repair the holes by lacing fishing line across them, and adding a small bit of duct tape. Perhaps the manufacturer could use more substantial material. ... show more

    • It Works But There Are Better Items Out There
As the subject line states, it works but you can find better for around the same price if not less. I didn't return it because I keep it in the box in case of last minute decision to fish with crickets but, I did but another type holder that serves as my go-to. Pros: - It collapses down to a nice compact size. Easy for storing in your tackle box. - Easy to see how many crickets you still have. Cons: - A little on the expensive side. You can get better cricket holders for less than $5 - It's hard to get your hand in and grab the crickets. - There isn't a ring around the bottom on the opening to stop crickets from crawling out.     • Needs to be wider!!
The idea is great. The problem is that you can’t get your hand in it to get a cricket. So I don’t know how you are supposed to use this for fishing if you can’t get to the bait.

    • I use these for leeches for my bait box in the summer
I know that these are for crickets, but I use them for leeches for summer fishing. The flip lid holds much better than the velcro ones on the traditional leech bags. Give it a try.
