Another product that makes me feel old. Back in my day, the quality was much better. These are nowhere near the quality of the notebooks I got 10 years ago. Pros: 3 Stars because it meets the minimum features you'd want. The plastic cover (the thing you paid extra for) is still passable. The lines are well printed. The micro perforation is good. The 3 holes are evenly and cleanly drilled. And IT'S CHEAP. Cons: Icons in corners? - There are these QR Code-style icons in all four corners that waste about 1.5 inches around them. Say you want to put a page number in the bottom right corner, or title the page in the top left, well too bad. There's a funky icon in the way. I think they are for the scanning app they are pitching. I wouldn't trust it and certainly don't want pages that have been redesigned for it. Thin Paper - The paper is very thin now. Their "feature" that the paper "fights ink bleed" seems to be a marketing strategy to spin a negative as a positive. Normal paper this thin, I expect ink would seep through multiple pages. They seem to have added a plastic or something like that to the fiber to make it water-resistant. I don't like the feel. The pages seem thin, fragile, and waxy to me. Rumpled Edges - To be fair, paper notebooks like this are always prone to rumpled / curled edges. But this new thin paper is much worse. I'm an office worker, but after just a couple of days turning pages and working with it at my desk, the curled edges look like what I'd pull out of my old backpack when I was in school. ... show more
