I wasn’t expecting to love this chain as much as I do, but here we are! I ordered this for my 17 year old son, who's a bit of a fashionisto and it looks perfect on him. The 14K gold plating has such a perfect tone and shine to it. It's bold enough to get noticed, but not so flashy that it looks cheesy, chintzy or gaudy. The Figaro style is a classic, which basically means it goes with anything from a plain t-shirt to a dressy button-down, and everything in between. It’s definitely got some weight to it, so it's not hollow. The weight makes it feel legit. The stainless steel chain underneath the 14k makes it feel sturdy and hefty, but it won't turn your neck green (he's worn it daily with no signs of fading, oxidizing or tarnishing). It still looks as good as the day it was delivered (this photo was taken almost 2 months after he got it). The clasp actually does its job, huzzah! There won't be any surprise slip-offs or awkward moments where you look down and realize your chain has bailed off your neck mid-conversation. At this price point, I wasn't exactly expecting Fort Knox quality of gold, you know what I mean? And... if we're being honest, it’s definitely more “gold-colored” than “gold content,” because nobody is going to be able to get real gold at this price point... but, WHO REALLY CARES??? I got THIS kind of chain for my teenager, because he still has a tendency to lose small things like this. So, as long as it looks real and stays looking real, whether it's *actually* real or not doesn’t make one bit of difference because it LOOKS great and it feels solid! Apparently jewelry like this is coming back into style and my teenage son had been eyeing some gold chains while we were at the store, so I surprised him with this necklace for his birthday and he LOVED it! The chain has a nice heaviness and sturdiness to it without being tacky, cheap, or cheesy looking. It's just a nice, solid piece with the versatility to compliment pretty much any style or occasion. Light weight chain. It feels like it's a plastic chain or something you can get with a costume. The shine is really nice. It looks like it's real. It was worn once got some compliments didn't turn my neck green or anything but it wasn't long. It is a nice length the clasp is good and tough. It is definitely thinner and the links are not as big as I'm the picture.

I'm very pleased with this chain. I chose the thicker option which is the 5mm in the 18" length. The gold doesn't look too fake or bright. The chain also has a good little weight to it, which makes it feel substantial. I am thinking about picking up another one so my son can have one. I plan on wearing it without a pendant just to get a chill look with basic tees/tanks. Quality is nice and the price point is good.

Nice looking chain. Came packaged in a blue gift box but nothing fancy. Not sure how true the gold plating is, or that there is any real gold on this at all. But, for the price, this is a stylish chain that would be good for a night out or special occasions. I got it as a gift for my boyfriend since he wanted a nice looking, non expensive chain he didn't have to worry about wearing and damaging. At this price, he can wear it everyday until it looks like crap then we can buy another. Overall, it is a nice chain at a fair price but I doubt there is any real gold content. Just a nice looking gold color.

The chain is OK, and the links have a nice quality look and they are smooth with no burs felt. 5mm is too small for my needs, if you are male you may want to look at 10 mm size. The wife took it from me and is using it, she said it is perfect for women, women don't want big chains. The linkage appears to be very strong so you can hang a heavy pendant from it without worries.
