I have used a fitbit for the last 6 years...I've gone through a lot of them, usually while under warranty. My 7 year old has been wearing a really old digital watch that has been falling apart at the seams. She seems me always wearing my fitbit and I know she's been curious about it. She's seen commercials for other smart watches, but ones that have games and such which I am not interested in. I decided to get her this for Christmas when amazon was having a sale. We charged it and set it up as soon as she opened it. It was fairly easy to pair with my phone and my account because my kiddo doesn't have her own phone. She's been able to quickly figure it out and I love knowing her sleeping patterns and her daily steps. This doesn't feel as high quality as my fitbit, but that being said its a fraction of the price. My alta HR bit the dust and I needed something to count my steps so I can continue posting to my Conquerer Challenge Marathon. I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg and I wanted a brand I could rely on and was already familiar with. First, Yes, I am an adult, and it does work for adults too. There are also plenty of notches in the band to fit even the largest wrists! I've only had it a couple of days now but do notice that there are a few downsides... 1) You need to use a family account with it and create a child account for the tracking. This is fine, but, unfortunately, it does not automatically sync with the Marathon app since it's basically a sub-account of the main one. Ok, fine, I'll just manually post the distances since I at least have that info now. 2) Which brings me to caveat #2, it doesn't track distance! ??? I have no idea why it doesn't offer this info, it seems like a pretty basic conversion from steps but sadly the tracker only shows the # of steps. So I had to find a separate website calculator to convert steps to miles and adds yet another extra step to posting my distance to the marathon app. Those are really the only downsides. Seems to track sleep quite well and does a decent job of step tracking. Just know that it won't show you actual miles or distance. The band is extremely comfortable and soft. It's actually WAY more comfortable than the regular Fitbit Alta HR band which used to leave indents in my arm sometimes where i"d have to leave it off for a while to give my wrist a rest. So in short: Pros: Pretty accurate Silent alarm feature stopwatch feature fun watch faces comfortable band Tracks active minutes Cons: Information does not sync with other apps Does not calculate distance Simple/plain, more juvenile look to it, if that bothers you. Overall it's comfortable and getting the job done without shelling out a fortune...so A- from me :) ... show more

My daughter lost this fitbit while swimming in a lake in NH. More than a full year later her friend found it in the lake and gave it back to us. We plugged it in and it charged and is as good as new! It survived being under water for a full year including a NH winter.

May daughter who is 8 wanted a Fitbit like my Charge 3, because of the steps and relax mode, silent alarms, etc. So she worked hard to earn the money to buy this kids model. Unfortunately we didn't see that all it really does is step count because it doesn't have a heart rate monitor. The screen features are a bit to figure out to navigate. The APP is a pain to switch between her stats and mine on my phone. I don't think most kids have smart phones, so being able to set the alarms from the watch itself would have been nice instead of having to log in the app to make any changes. The upside, it looks great - she loves it. She's been wearing it now for 4 months and the condition is still great. It really is water proof and very durable - its been on many serious adventures even into the sea. The battery charge lasts about a week and she really likes the main screen with the option if the little flower that grows through out the day as she gets more steps. Once she wears this one out, I think she'll start earning for the adult watches with the heart rate monitor and extra features - just buy a girly looking strap. ... show more

I purchased the Fitbit Ace 2 for my rising kindergartner on a whim. She commented one day about not knowing her steps (mom, dad, and big brother all have fitness trackers). She needed a new watch anyhow and the sale price was enough to push me to make the purchase. I'm so glad I did! Not only is it helping keep her active during our time still at home, but it's also very helpful for remote learning! I'm working full time from home and trying to keep up with school schedules for 2 kids. I've used the app to set alarms on her watch 10 minutes before she has a live class. On the second day of school, she got up as soon as it buzzed and headed to her Chromebook to log in. I appreciate having this extra help during a busy time as we all adjust to our new schedules and she loves the independence it gives her to manage her own day. ... show more

I purchased this as an Amazon Prime Day deal, but I had already anticipated on purchasing it for my daughter (10yo). This has all the basic features of most Fitbits - step counting, step goals, sleep monitoring, etc. I mostly bought it to get a better idea of how my daughter was sleeping at night. The only drawback I have is not with the product itself, but with setting it up in your (parent) Fitbit account. My daughter does not have a usable Smartphone, so I paired it with my phone. Syncing and switching between my Inspire and this Ace 2 not necessarily smooth - albeit, that could also be my phone. I believe if the child has their own smartphone in which they can link/sync their Fitbit to, it would be a great buy - especially if you want to monitor your child's sleep and activity. ... show more
