One morning my 2012 white Acadia driver side mirror was on the ground, smashed, the victim of a late night clipping incident. The console was intact, but the black plastic plate that holds the mirror had been knocked out. The mirror glass was smashed. Replacing the entire side mirror assembly was unnecessary, and was exorbitantly expensive at the dealer. Side mirror assemblies could be purchased for about $80 online, with instructional videos showing how to install them, but they were all black, and my car is white. This product was my knight in mirror-plated armor! I scraped out all the old broken glass and green heating jelly (wearing protective gloves, of course), washed everything with soap, popped the two black plastic pieces apart, and voila! This mirror fit right in. It was not a perfect fit, but close enough that I could get the black plastic casing back together. A little epoxy to glue it all together and reattach it into the mirror assembly, and it worked great! Total cost: $15 ($10 for the mirror, $5 for epoxy). The downsides: There are two. First, as mentioned above, it was not a perfect fit for the 2012 Acadia, but really close. Second, this obviously does not have the heating/defrost function, which doesn't matter to me, but seems to bother my wife. :-( Definitely give this a try if your side mirror housing is still intact. ... show more

I have a 2012 GMC Acadia, it was a perfect fit. I saw some reviews that said it didn't fit their's quite right however mine fit perfect. I was concerned that the tint of the mirror might not match the driver side but it too was perfect. The only thing I would say is that the two small strips of adhesive tape didn't seem adequate so I purchased some 3M double sided automotive tape from a local auto parts store and added enough to cover the majority of the back side of the mirror. I had a cracked passenger side mirror on my 2008 Acadia. This covered my cracked mirror "almost" perfectly. The adhesive backing sticks to the mirror perfectly and it's been two months and it's still on. My only issue is that although it covers the cracked mirror, when I aligned the top of the replacement to the top of the existing, there is a small gap showing of the underneath mirror. So, it's not an exact size. Maybe an 1/8 of an inch smaller if I had to guess. However, I don't thing you would notice it unless I pointed it out. Also, be careful with your placement, because once you stick it on, there's no second chances unless you rip it off. Good product, a bargain compared to the complete mirror replacement. ... show more

This mirror is not an absolute perfect fit for the plastic backing plate on my 10 Traverse, though descrip says it is the right mirror. I would recommend ordering the glass and backing plate together, the plate pops in and out easily on the models this mirror glass fits. if you place over broken mirror, it may come off as a better fit, reviews reflect that. I am using it as a temp, went ahead and ordered the heated replacement glass with plastic backing plate, mostly because I don't want to leave the connection hanging in the mirror housing (knowing if u have heated mirrors would be advisable upfront, not my best run at a DIY). ... show more

It was a perfect fit to my 2010 Acadia. I took of the loose pieces of the broken glass and put the new on right on top of the old one . It's been over a month and still stuck on there strong . Saved me alot of money a new mirror is over $70 this was only $13 .
