  • very durable, even with burning hedge.
Color: 12pack
Very durable and easy to cut if needed. I used them to line the bottom of my high efficiency fireplace and they seem to handle the high heat of even hedge. After a month no visable wear, No cracks, splits or broken bricks yet. And reasonable price compared to the oem bricks.

  • Nice!!!
Color: 6pack
We are in the process of redoing our living room which includes a fireplace and we got these to put in the fireplace. First we were impressed with the very careful packaging. We did a test on one and found it very easy to cut and did not melt as one reviewer said. So overall good quality and value.

  • No previous experience with these; So far so good
Color: 12pack
As mentioned in the title to the review, I do not have any previous experience with blocks like these. So far…they are molded reasonably well and lay flat, for the most part, some relatively small gaps here and there. I could see this being an issue for containing the heat produced. As for our use with them, this is merely assistance with ventilation, so I cannot complain as of now. We have not used them, yet, for anything over the typical heat from a basic fire. Fire pit temperature, whatever the average may be for that. So we do not currently have any comments or complaints on the usability with extreme temperatures. We held one block to open flame, directly on the flame. No burn marks visible. No cracks. Though it did appear to “melt” a corner of the block. Not a major portion was “melted” but it did reduce the shape of the corner when exposed directly to the flame. Otherwise…they’re good so far. None of them have cracked or eroded in any noticeable way. But the corner “melting” on the flame wasn’t a great sign of durability. We will see how they hold up over time. I do not see these being our long-term choice. ... show more

  • Not durable and not good even at 1975 degrees
Color: 6pack
These warped in my heat treating oven at 1975 degrees fahrenheit. I would not recommend these fire bricks.

  • Good product
Color: 12pack
This refractory brick is very suitable for fireplace lining, but not for forging purposes as the temperature for forging purposes exceeds 2700F

  • Works well in our wood burning stove
Color: 6pack
So far these are working great. We used some of them to replace broken bricks in our wood burning stove and it appears that they are working as they should be. They are a little thinner than the ones that we removed, but I now see that there are 2 different thicknesses available. We had to cut one to fit the top section of our stove and it was easy to do with a razor knife. We scored it as deep as possible, which took minimal effort, and then we were able to snap off the pieces we didn't need. We run our stove at about 600 degrees and so far, they are holding up well. I've noticed that the fire is burning more efficiently in the areas where we replaced the broken bricks and we are able to get a more even burn. These fit well in all of the areas where I needed to replace them, but I wish there was a longer size for some of my side ones that will need replaced soon. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product. ... show more

  • Packaged well.
Color: 12pack
These are exactly as they should be. They are fire bricks that arrived in the proper shape, without damage, and do not appear to burn during my very brief fire exposure test. Not sure what more you would ask for. They weigh enough that they should do well on thermal mass temperature holds and not transferring too much heat out of the fire area. Stack easily. They are indeed fire bricks. ... show more

  • Superb firebricks!
Color: 6pack
I'm a student learning to make jewelry, so I used these firebricks for soldering and annealing silver. They work GREAT! After annealing a large piece of metal, the firebrick appeared nearly untouched, with only the lightest ring of white where the flame had been the hottest, and a little spot of flux that melted onto the brick. They're very lightweigh but still hard and smooth, and I'm guessing that they'd be suitable for making forms for glass slumping or enamel plique a jour, with kiln paper over the form to keep the enamel from sticking. 5 stars because I am extremely happy with the smoothness, light weight, and heat impermeability of these firebricks. I wish I could give them 10 stars! ... show more
