These skates are actually better than many other beginner options out there. They offer great support and can really help you decide if figure skating is your new favorite hobby. Just a little heads up: if you’re thinking about committing to figure skating seriously, you might want to visit a professional shop for some advanced options down the line. But for now, these skates will give you a wonderful introduction to the sport. I’ve recently gotten into ice skating this year and finally decided I wanted to buy my own pair of skates instead of having to pay for rentals. I came across these and they seemed like a decent pair of inexpensive skates for beginners. I’m generally a size 9-9.5 women’s shoe and I ordered the EU size 40. They seem mostly true to size, but if you prefer a more snug fit, you could always layer with an extra pair of socks. The skates have about 1/4” of padding, which does fit nicely around my ankles. The one thing I’m kind of disappointed about is that the skates I received are different than what was advertised. The brand on the tongue is clearly different from the product pictures - I received Wellwon skates, not Smoojoy. The soles of the skates I received are also brown, not black like what was pictured. This pair was also supposed to have been new, but there were a few cosmetic defects (scratches, dark marks - see last 2 pics) on both of the skates. I haven’t had a chance to test these out on the ice yet, but I’m hoping they will hold up. For the price, they’re a good beginner pair, just wish there had been more transparency/not misleading information on the product listing.

I love these skates! Don’t get me wrong they are fabulous and comfortable. But they are not the ones shown in the picture. The ones that came had brown soles, not black, and said Wellwon on the tongue. Obviously not big differences, and don’t affect the function or anything. Just a little misleading? They fit well and a little loose so if you live where it is cold you can wear wool socks with no issue! Such high quality, and they are so pretty!!

These skates are more for beginners but very good quality. The upper layer is not leather so I don't expect them to last long in a professional application and everyday use. Should last a long time in a recreational setting. They are soft and run slightly larger, good if you are wearing thick socks. The size chart is confusing. All skates have a mondo label on them, not sure why it was not included on the chart, the closest one is cm.

This is a basic, cheap pair of ice skates. They're not going to be adequate for any kind of serious skater, but the current selling price is about the same as a one-hour skate rental at the outdoor skating rink in Manhattan. And I think it's safe to assume that these will last much longer than just an hour. The skates themselves seem to have decent quality skate blades. Only time will tell, but they certainly arrived nice and sharp. The boots are made from synthetic leather, and I expect this to be the part that shows where quickly. The fit seems to be a little large to size; My daughter normally wears an 8, and my wife and 8.5. I ordered size 8 skates, and they both feel the boots are a bit large. Lacing them tightly and wearing a second pair of socks will probably help. The boots do have a decent layer of foam padding on the inside - maybe 1/4" thick. It feels rather cheap, but it's probably better than nothing. Lastly, I should mention that the skates we received are different from what's shown in the picture. The brand stamped on the tongue is completely different, and the soles are brown instead of black. These skates are probably perfect for somebody who might use them a dozen times or less over the next few years. However, I would not recommend them for any kind of serious skater.

These skates make me excited for the winter season and I cannot wait to break them in! They are stiff, so I will need to wear them over time to see how they perform. They are supposed to be made from microfiber leather, a closer synthetic version to actual leather, but less cruel because you aren't using animals. The shoes, laces and blades appear to be made of good quality. Only time will tell if this material will hold up, but I recommend following the care instructions in the manual to keep the skates dry after use to prevent mold.

I ordered an eight in women’s and used them a couple of times on a local rink. I will say that if you have a skate that’s a bit smaller, it feels more secure around your ankle. But that’s a personal preference. It’s a comfortable skate, the blades were polished and sharpened, they laced easy and were a clean white. Fun to skate in, but it would be more enjoyable in a size down.
