If you're thinking about buying this one vs another one - buy this one! We bought this one first two years ago. Then one day my dog chewed through the leash while I was getting shoes on and had left his leash open (he's a power chewer! I should have known better!). Then I was considering whether I should buy this one again or another one. I kind of like to try new things... and that other leash came with a silicone water bowl and a poop bag holder and had different colors available and looked pretty cool... Worst mistake of my recent life! The lock mechanism on it wouldn't catch unless my dog was standing still, it wouldn't stay locked when you would click it on, and to top it off that cool poop bag holder was basically worthless! Ha! I didn't want to mess with returning that leash so I decided to just keep it and make do. After about two months of "making do," it totally broke. It became unable to lock at all, which is a danger if you're walking beside a busy road in a city. So immediately I ordered this leash again. When I know something good, I shouldn't mess with trying to change it. After this leash arrived, I could immediately feel a quality difference. The part you hold doesn't feel as cheap, the leash part is thicker, and when my dog decides to suddenly lunge after a squirrel or anything else, I can immediately and effortlessly snap down the lock and stop him. It's perfect. I'm so glad I have this leash again!

I’ve had dogs my whole life. I wanted to save some money and this had great reviews. It was fine for 4 months but snapped as I had it on my dog being treated for heartworms with adulticide. Luckily she wasn’t walking or trying to run or this could have killed her. She was just laying in the yard and it snapped. I bought both dogs new leashes from an expensive trusted brand immediately. Can only fathom if I was trying to keep one from running in the road and it snapped!

Product is great for a small dog. Ours is just 5 lbs. but will be about 10lbs. as an adult. She can handle the weight of the leash. This one has a tape instead of the string. She would tie herself up in the string. The shorter length (10 ft.) works much better than the traditional 16 ft. for small dogs. Love the choice of colors. She now has two of these. One in the car and one for home. They also have matching vests which are great. she

I am new to the retractable leash, and was reluctant to try it. But I am glad I did try it. It's a whole new walking experience. I am no longer attached with a 6foot leash. My dog loves the freedom and I can actually walk slower while using this nice device. Highly recommend.

It’s my second time buying this same leash, different color. Works fantastic for my 14lb dog and my sister’s 15lb dog. He’s very strong but this leash can handle it, it locks easily, and it doesn’t pull hard. It’s definitely means for small dogs. It’s also comfortable to hold and attractive looking.

I use this leash on my overly active 25 lb Scottish Terrier and it’s a life saver. The only downside is that it tangles easily, but that’s probably more of a user error than manufacturing flaw. Make sure you retract the leash all the way after you use it.

This is a good, light weight leash for our small furball! Extends and retracts easily and the lock is a great feature to keep control of our 6 pounds of cuteness and fluffiness. The handle is a little small but we wanted something suitable for little squishy so that's OK. A larger dog may be harder to control as you can only get a three-finger grip on the handle.
