Moving to a new house I needed to downsize my footprint with stuff and frankly was just sick of too much crap. Had the plastic bins thing on the wall with bolts and screws for years. Almost all of that mess consolidated into one of these things. You can separate each drawer easily into 3 bins giving you 36 bins for stuff. Like most Festool products, this sortainer is a little on the expensive side but for me it's worth the money! This sortainer arrived sooner than most of my Festool orders and it arrived in great shape, packed well for the shipping and had no flaws to speak of.     • Great for portable storage and organisation
We use a lot of these stackable sustainers for organization of network termination jacks, plugs and modules for home automation installs. In preparation for a trim-out, our techs go through each room, and set up a drawer per room, with the appropriate jacks, labels, trim plates and so on. Additionally, we have some sortainers prepped out with the installation tools needed to complete test and verification of the trim-out. For each job, the containers (2-3) are latched together, then a packing strip is applied to hold the whole thing together. On side, multiple install guys can pull out the drawers, and head to different rooms, knowing that they have to use everything in a drawer to complete trim out of the room. They have the added benefit of pre-prepared labels, done at a much higher quality by desktop high-resolution printers, rather than on-site cable printers. I've ordered many different models of these sortainers and they have all worked really well. They stack well. It is possible to get to any sortainer in the stack simply by undoing the latches on the top of the desired sortainer and picking up all of the ones above it. They provide a lot of organized storage in a small footprint. The only issue with them is that one must be careful that nothing is sticking up over the top of the drawer. This will lead to the drawer not coming out very easily. It would be nice if they would add some with different depth drawers as well. ... show more

I've become a Sortainer addict - thought these were a gimmick at first, but after converting over from cheap Lowe's parts containers, they have become indispensable for regular hardware/nuts/bolts/tools, and also for scale modeling supplies. Ended up buying every size and type they make (6, 9, 12 drawer) and the 3-drawer Sys-4 unit. The Sortainers are of the Classic version, so if you mix with a T-Loc, the latter needs to be on top. Yes, they are hideously expensive for a plastic box, but I've come to realize that Festool/Tanos, like Apple, has the user interface down pat. ... show more

I like that this sortainer fits in my drawers and systainer ports, as the other systainers do, but be aware that for this clip to another systainer, for transport, it does not use the T-Loc system as the other systainers do. Rather, I think you need the side clips from a prior generation of systainers, that clip on the side. The sortainers and systainers which lock with the T-Loc system have a flange that protudes from the bottom center,and have tabs at the bottom, on the back, which engage the top of the sortainer or systainer that you want to attach it to. ... show more

    • Well constructed portable drawers
The media could not be loaded. I am new to the Festool fan club (and I don't mean that in a bad way) but it seems that the people the love Festool LOVE it and I'm one of them. This is one of my first purchases from them. I love to have some organization but i can get lost in details like should I put all screws in one drawer or just wood screws. Silly problems but ones I struggle with. This MUST be the bottom of any Festool system because it is designed to lock to the unit above it. There is a very smooth push and pull movement to the drawers though they can get stuck and it can be a problem so make sure longer items have the room to lie flat. The smoothness of the in and out of these is undeniable and a testament to their quality. Draws lock when pressed in all the way and unlock when you go to pull them by pushung up of the green button located under the pull handle. These are hefty (ten pounds empty) so combine is wisely with your other boxes. The description says the can be adapted to accommodate different sized drawers but that isn't readily mapped out for me to try so I'm keeping this as is for now. Too much organization will leave me scratching my head when I need something in a pinch. I agree that for the price a few more drawer dividers would be a kind thing to do and well it just makes sense that a complete system would include an all you use tabs but luckily they aren't too expensive to get some extras. All in all, if you can afford these, they are worth it. If you can't afford them, you can get just as useful organizer at a fraction of the cost. ... show more
