A 2" diamond will provide approximately 85% privacy, a 2-1/4 diamond will provide approximately 80% privacy and a 2-3/8 diamond will provide approximately 75% privacy (a larger diamond will have less privacy and a smaller diamond size will provide better privacy). Make sure you measure your chain link fence diamond before placing an order.
  • Wave SlatTM has been sold in all 50 states. Good for hot or cold climates. Made of HDPE (plastic) - High Density Polyethylene with UV inhibitors to help against sun fading.

Wave Slat™ - Single Wall Bottom Locking Slat for Chain Link Fence Available for Fence Heights: 4’, 5’, 6’, 7’ and 8’ Coverage: Each box will cover approximately 10 linear feet of fence (2" diamond, 82 slats, 41 diamonds). The bottom locking devices are included (3 pieces) and will be enough for ten feet of fence. Installation: Insert the locking channel by sliding it through the bottom of the chain link fence (see picture). Insert the privacy slat from the top of the fence down towards the locking device at the bottom of the fence until it clicks into place. The locking device will help secure the slat into place. I purchased the Grey 5 boxes of the 4 foot slats (our fence is 11 gage - 2 1/4” diamond slat size) I called and verified with the company that installed our fence 8 yrs ago, the gage / diamond size b4 purchasing. They offered to have me buy their vendors privacy slats and install for about $1000. To install a privacy vinyl privacy fence they quoted $14k. No thanks… including s&h of $60 UPS ( which I checked and that is what USPS charges for 31 lbs from vendor to my location) this cost $299. WAY cheaper…We were trying to cover one side of our fence due to neighbor not cleaning up their yard, and wanted privacy from their dogs/mess. My husband said it was my project, and I did it all by myself (girl power..lol) I’m not mechanically inclined, and it took me about 6 hours over 2 days to complete it start to finish. My suggestion is have a small stool to sit on/scissors/butter knife/ U shaped stakes ( you can buy on Amazon also - once your finished you need to secure the fence to the ground- per our fence professional) so I bought those and for every 10 feet used 3 stakes. That way if you have high winds, the weight adding the stakes will not topple over your fence. I first put the bottom pieces on, then put all the slats in place (using one box at a time) and while sitting on the stool used the butter knife to open up the bottom piece wide enough to push the slat down and lock into place. I had the best luck pulling the bottom piece lip toward me and then getting the slat to lock into place. It’s time consuming, but take your time and you’ll get the hang of it. When I was finished, I went back over the top of each slat pushed down gently to make sure each slat was “ locked in place” then put my stakes in the ground. A few times I had to push back a metal twist piece to get the slat to drop down into the diamond, but they are pretty simple to do. I did trim 2 pieces at the start and end of the fence to not leave any openings. Overall, it looks really nice and the slats are really nice quality. Arrived within a week of ordering. Really impressed myself, didn’t ask for husband’s help at all, and he was impressed I did it all on my own, and how nice and private it looks. Would highly recommend. Hope my tips helps others when start this process. June 2023 update- slats held up so well this past year decided to finish the rest of chain link fence with more slats, and installed privacy fence on one side to give complete privacy from neighbors. Very happy. Ordered 2 more boxes, only needed 1 to finish project. Refund simple and easy, they must have updated their policies. No return restock / shipping fees, and said no return of the extra box required but giving full refund of unopened box. Awesome company. Thanks! ... show more

Works great. It adds privacy and looks good. If you don't try to insert a second layer, it's very easy and fast to finish the job. Since I had a lot left, so I decided to insert more diagonally, and that took a long time because there wasn't enough room for double layers. I bought these in an effort to block the wind from blowing my privacy screen. The wave slats are easy to install. I put 2 - 6ft boxes, 82 or 86 slats in the fence in 2 hour's time. I still plan on re hanging my privacy screen, but this time I'm using metal tie straps made from stainless steel sheet metal. The plastic ones no matter how thick you get, the Florida Sun & HEAT with humidity breaks them down in about 6 weeks time. ... show more

I ordered four boxes of slats that came tapped together and were delivered in error to my neighbor. Once I located them I had to carry them to my house and it was very heavy for me. Two packages together would have been bettter. Shipping was $45.00. Once I opened the box I realized they were shorter than the 5' I had ordered. I realized I didn't read the description that the slats are 3.5 inches less than 5'. There's a larger space from the slats to the ground than I had anticipated, but I thought it looked ok and decided not to return them. I had a difficult time trying to understand how to insert them after watching several videos. A friend came over and he helped me get the process started. Then it went fairly smooth. Some slats were difficult to insert due to the wires used to secure the fence when it was installed, but with effort I was able to feed them through. I had a few left over and used them to cover an eye sore of wires on a pole in the alley. As a 65 year old woman, I was able to complete the project and very satisfied with the end result! ... show more

    • Plastic privacy slats are pretty thin in width and thickness

These slats worked okay for our purposes but they are pretty skinny and require more to create an effective blind. Great that the come in a variety of colors though. These can be hard to find at hardware stores. Slow shipping from the seller was also a factor in our rating.
