Recently changed my transmission filter on my 2003 Buick Regal. Dropped the pan and the gasket that was on the pan was made of the same material. The Fel-Pro gasket seemed a tad bit thicker but the old gasket was 10 years old so hard to tell. Cleaned the pan really well and used some gasket adhesive (never use RTV) to hold the gasket in place, lot is sit while I installed the new filter and put the pan up with no problems. While changing the filter I installed JEGS Performance Products 60175 Transmission Pan Drain Plug Kit so now I can keep clean transmission oil in the system in between filter changes (I've been bad as this was my first transmission filter change and my car is at 133K. I've used a fluid vacuum down the dipstick to change the fluid a few times but the drain plug will allow me to drain it better. I would recommend this gasket to anyone. ... show more

In my many years in car repair I have consistently found that Fel-Pro gaskets beat any other brand hands down. This auto trans pan gasket is a hard-formed pan-shaped frame coated with a durable soft ribbed rubber. The rear of the gasket will not jump out of place as you are starting the front screws or vice-versa. I have seen these pan gaskets used, then re-used, without leakage many times... although no one would recommend such a practice (wink wink). That I'm aware of, this would only be possible with a Fel-Pro. This is the royalty of gasket and seal manufacturers and well worth the extra expense. I have no financial interest in Fel-Pro, only professional appreciation for top quality gaskets and seals. ... show more

    • Best Gasket I ever used!
Factory gasket is made same way the Fel-pro is. Rubber/metal/rubber. Factory gaket was still good after 96,000 on my chevy lumina that I changed trans fluid in. To be safe I still used this Fel pro gasket. Plus I did not have to scrape old gasket off up transmission or pan.The rubber/metal/rubber style gasket leaves no residue on pan or transmission.It is very ridgid and did not move or bunch up re installing pan!     • Gasket was easy to install with no leaks yet
Gasket was easy to install with no leaks yet. All the holes lined up. Messy job, for my tip of day, use a wide drain pan and always keep two bolts on one side at first cracking of pan to limit drainage area.

Glad I decided to spend a little more on this gasket vs other alternatives. It does not require gasket sealant and fit my 06 pontiac grand prix perfectly. I don't take chances on trans gaskets, especially when it is keeping 8 qts of $10/qt trans oil off the ground.......
