My son is learning how to walk and this is the first pair of shoes he will actually wear. Fits great with socks and he can easily walk with them. Haven't notice any issues on his feet or ankles and he doesn't rip them off. So I believe they are comfortable. The velcro makes it easy to tighten if needed.
