If you have never done this before, good luck. Set up a chunk of time to learn the method and get a rhythm for yourself. I practiced on a wig before even trying on myself. And even when I did it to myself, I barely put any in my hair. My hands can't take doing the work for long. If you're younger without pain in your hands you'll probably have a better experience. I'll stick with chunks of colored hair that I can snap into my hair. Much easier for my hands on myself. Doing it on someone else was much easier to do and easier and quicker on my friend.

Okay-so there's a hundred options when your comparing hair tinsel. of the three that I have owned this one was the best. it comes with a tremendous amount of tinsel and all the accessories. again, the instructions are lacking, some don't come with any, but you can look this up online easily. we prefer to hand tie them in as opposed to the tool option. this one is the only one that actually came in a box. that was a plus. if you are looking to gift tinsel, this makes for good gift-ability. Of the other two I got, one came in a mailer flat which was fine. the other came in a mailer but was folded in three sections to make it compact. it was then tied with rubber bands cinching the tinsel. to this or the one that is laid flat is preferable. we've not yet tried the barrette type approach that this comes with. although that is a nice option as its less permanent and you could really use a lot of tinsel. I'm assuming you'd put this in under layers of hair like an extension. anyway- its loads of fun. only other thing id like to say is that please be careful with PETS. cats in particular. this could be a nightmare if they consume it. cats like stingy objects and some don't know when to stop...I had a cat who ate everything. this can cause internal damage if ingested and these hair tinsels do come out over time on their own. youll be able to see them slip a little down the hair, so you can see if one is loosening but you might not always catch it. just be mindful if you have pets :)
