I ordered the 2 pack of beginners recorders as required of my child's 3rd grade music 🎶 class. The sound was exactly what I expected for a first timer getting used to a foreign musical instrument. If your kids is just beginning to play & doesn't understand they don't have to blow into it with all they got then you will be okay without having a piar of earplugs. Unfortunately I cannot return this item anymore because the window for the return just closed. These recorders are not in tune as the high C is flat.
