  • Goldilocks Would Be Happy: Just Right On and Off Road
These replaced the street/road tires on my 2013 Land Cruiser and so far I've been impressed. I was after something with off-road capability but I wanted to maintain some on-road comfort / manners. That's sort of asking for it all, but that was my goal when I started looking for new tires. I've owed Wildpeaks in the past, but on a different vehicle, so I started there. However, the price for the Wildpeak AT4W has just about doubled since I last put them on. That lead me to the Rubitrek and I think I found what I was looking for... I live in the Rockies and so far from my driving here is what I have discerned: - They have had excellent traction in the snow and rain. (They are snow rated). - Comparing these to the street tires I had on previously, I do notice a difference in noise, but its negligible. I may have just adapted but I feel like they got quieter after about 500 miles. - My wife has an LX 570, which is basically the same vehicle. When she drove mine after the new tires, she said it "feels more like a truck", but I don't think that's a bad thing. - My off-roading consists mostly of National Forest fire roads. Muddy, snowy, rocky, etc. - moderate overall. These have done great. Just as well as the Wildpeaks and KO2s I've owned. - Amazingly my fuel mileage has remained the same. I'm still thinking about why, but I'll take it. Now I opted for the 116T; I would definitely see a drop if I had put on an LT tire. I'm happy I found them and gave them a shot. I've found it's just as Falken markets them: As good as the Wildpeak offroad, but more comfort / better on-road. Time will tell, but for now I will recommend them. 👍 ... show more

  • Good grip
Grips well, not much noise for a at tire, loose a little gas mileage but overall good tire.

  • BETTER THAN WILDPEAKS?
only time will tell, look just as good and feel a bit better. Wet condition driving feels identical. Best deal on the net for sure.

  • Not made in the USA!
Part of my purchasing decision was based on Falken stating "Country of Origin: United States". I purchased a set of 4 tires that arrived promptly. The tires have "Made in Thailand" on the sidewalls. False advertising.

  • Great tires so far
I haven't had these tires before but have had multiple sets of falken ats. I haven't put them through snow or mud yet but they have a very aggressive and deep test pattern. I have no doubt they will be good in snow. They're quieter then most ats. Definitely recommend them. I will update on longevity

  • Nice all-around A/T tire
Recently put a set of these on my 2009 Silverado 1500. I "upped" a size to 275/65r18 from the stock 265's. I had considered a lot of different tires, and was looking at the Wildpeak when I came across the Rubitrek. They sounded like a nice mixture of on/off road and very comparable to the Wildpeak. Only about 500 miles on them so far, but the ride is pretty nice. Not a lot of pavement slap and they soak up small and large bumps pretty well. Grip on gravel and dirt roads is fantastic. Much better than the H/T tires I previously had on it. Around town, they do pretty good. Steering feel is reasonable and predictable. Even though they are heavier, they don't feel heavy. Dry grip is excellent and wet grip is good enough for any A/T tire to hope for. Tread noise is present at all times, but varies based on how fast you drive. Below 55mph they are pretty quiet. Just a low hum that fades away easily, or is easily forgettable. Once you're on the highway above 60-65mph, they start to give you the typical A/T tire howl. It just depends on your subjective noise tolerance as to whether it will bother you or not. Most people it won't. Especially if you're used to aggressive tires. Someone looking for a quiet highway tire might be disappointed or annoyed by it. That's not to say it's bad. But you should pick a tire that best suits the strongest desire you want in one. I like these overall. They are a good all-around tire that do a lot of things well without too many compromises, and they aren't as expensive as their brother, the Wildpeak. ... show more
