  • It is a big goal that works well, but somewhat of a pain to assemble
Style: Folding Pro Goal
My son wanted a larger hockey goal so that when his shots are off, the goal can still stop the puck and keep it in our basement patio. While the frame was fairly easy to assemble, there were some big pain points in the construction. Namely, the main goal. The pieces snap together and do not require any hardware, but getting the last few pieces to align correctly to connect together became super difficult. It took my kids to push up to get the pipes to be flush to work. This was far more effort than I was expecting and made for a not super fun experience. My most troublesome part of this net was the netting itself. You have to tie the netting to the the frame itself, and that was almost more trouble than it was worth. Weaving the black line between the goal and the netting was tedious, and required two different pieces of string to do. Not only that, but you have to tie secure knots to prevent the net from loosening and falling off. I was a boy scout, but I have forgotten my knot-tying skills and there were no helpful instructions for the type of knots to tie to keep the net tight and catching pucks. My wife and I have both had to retie the net multiple times because of this. Overall, the net framework is nice and sturdy, and the net does a good job at being adjustable, but tying the net to the frame was probably the most annoying part of this build. Be prepared to spend a few hours weaving the net to the frame. ... show more

  • Perfect
Style: Folding Pro Goal
My kids love practicing their shots in the driveway. My daughter has a hard shot, but kept missing the net, so we found this net which is pretty much perfect for overshooting! No more worrying about windows getting broken. It is pretty heavy to move, but we are fine with that. It is made very well! My husband was annoyed that he had to weave the net on, but it wasn't a huge deal. ... show more

  • Great goal!
Style: Folding Pro Goal
Little time consuming to install net if you are not used to doing that for hockey. Great goal, very durable. Can collapse and easy storage. Great for garage. Sons love it.

  • Everything I hoped it would be
Style: Folding Pro Goal
I don't generally leave reviews, but this is such a good product for the price that I had to. It's easy to setup, but it does take about 2.5-3 hours to lace in the net. Not hard, just time consuming, and you'll get better as you go. Once setup, so goo! It's sturdy, it's light and easy to move around, and one of the biggest things for me is that it fold up really flat quickly, so it's easy to store. If you're on the edge, I hope this review helps push you over to buy it. I had a tarp before and this is waaaaaaaay more fun, which means you will practice more. Getting that "bar down" feedback is so good! ... show more

  • Heavy duty net and backstop performs great!
Don't waste your time buying the cheaper lighter hockey goals. The EZ goal ROCKS! Upon unboxing, assembly was daunting, and the fact that I had to lace the net by hand was quite frankly a pain. The pieces all went together well. The only thing I did wrong first time around was assmebling the back base of the goal frame (white curved tubes). These are precision fit pieces, so if you are struggling to get the whole thing to come together, you may have mixed up some pieces. I said the net was a pain to lace. It took a while. But it was therapeutic, and as I felt the quality of the netting, I had no doubt that this was by far better quality netting compared to my PVC tubing net purchased at Dick's Sporting Goods. I have seen reviews that say that excess tension can cause PUCKS to tear the net. Well, for street hockey, this isn't an issue. And even if you are an advanced player, with adequate slack, this will take slap shots well. Weight IS an issue, and once put together, you cannot transport the net separate from the backstop. Somewhere I saw an estimate of about 60lbs assmebled. the Box itself is heavy, but when the net is assebled its heavy and also spread out. So moving this bad boy around does take a lot of muscle. But the backstop ingeniously folds (read instructions carefully) to make it somewhat more compact. The side backstops fold in, but do not (from what I can tell) lock. As I moved it around, the two side panels had a tendency of opening up, so if you like to move it in the closed position, invest in some bungie cords and tack them to each other or something... And I believe the company sells rollers to attach to the front posts. I don't have these, but just keep in mind, These probably only allow you to roll the unit front-to-back. I have the net/backstop sideways in my garage, so it prob wont help me anyways. One thing you may notice, is depending on how you knotted the netting/backstop, you may get some slack forming over time. Just from folding and unfolding, the top backstop net now sags about 2 inches from the edges. Not a big deal, I can simply add tension. But it can/will happen. To me this is such a minor thing, especially since in one product, I get a great quality net, backstop, AND CORNER TARGETS! Forget about it. this is a winner for the price. Finally, the powder coat on the net is not very thick. This is my first season with it, and I haven't taken it out in snowy weather, but once it starts to get exposed to the elements, I will be cautious about corrosion. ... show more

  • New but Impressed
Style: Folding Pro Goal
So far I've only had one session of shooting on the goal, but I'm very impressed with the sturdiness of this set up. I'm usually taking wrist shots and not slappers, but I haven't put a dent in the steel goal posts. I think this a great value for the price.
