  • Did you have LASIK? Buy these NOW.
Color: Black Magnification Strength: 0.0 x
The first thing you should know is that I NEVER review products. Despite my background in psychology and research, I often find reviews to be too polarized and overwhelming. This product, however, deserves a stellar review and I'm going to try my best to offer a concise, helpful review for anyone who might be on the fence about buying these. Background story: I have had Dry Eye Syndrome (DES) for SEVEN years. Seven. I had LASIK surgery at age 20, and I have had varying degrees of DES ever since. Now, to be fair, I did not begin working long hours on a computer screen until after the surgery so I cannot say for sure that LASIK is the culprit. We all know that computers and blue light are bad for our eyes. The bottom line is that we did not evolve to do this -- we did not evolve as a species to sit in front of a bright, harsh-lit screen in bright, harsh-lit offices for 8-12 hours per day. However, once you've permanently changed your eyes and felt the sting of regret after being worn down for seven years trying to find eye drops, glasses, contacts, etc., to cure the ailment that you inflicted upon yourself for having LASIK in the first place... you get a little frustrated and it's hard to see beyond "I shouldn't have done this..." Now, fast forward seven years to present day. I ordered these glasses to figure out if I should put a coating on my reading glasses (yes, I know need reading glasses at a low prescription due to LASIK). I figured that they're fairly inexpensive and I might as well give it a shot. HOLY 5-STAR REVIEW, BATMAN! -- These glasses have CHANGED. MY. LIFE. I now wear them while driving in twilight or at night, to watch TV, to work at the computer, to play around on my iPad or iPhone -- ALL THE TIME. I wish I could permanently make my vision look like this. This is what I've been trying to achieve for YEARS. Not only do they greatly relieve eye strain, but honestly they make everyday life easier for me to look at. My eyes are sensitive to light and I see halos/glares after LASIK especially when my DES is particularly aggressive... that stuff is GONE while I wear these. These glasses aren't just a solution for eye strain -- they're a solution for post-LASIK misery. Here is a list of reasons why I love these: 1) They are not super yellow. My coworkers notice sometimes, but it really isn't that noticeable. It also doesn't distort your quality of vision. Things look a little more sepia toned or yellowed out, but it's honestly comfortable for anybody who has sensitivity to light. 2) They are very stylish and feel like good quality frames. They are heavier than my $180 Ray-Bans. Seriously. 3) The arms have a spring, so they fit comfortably on my face and the faces of my curious coworkers without slipping. They also don't feel too tight. 4) They block some, but of course not all, blue light. Any glasses that are not straight up amber are not going to block 100% of blue light. I think they block around 30% according to the product info. For most people this will tremendously help, but of course some will require stronger stuff. 5) They are great for driving at night -- they reduce the glare of the headlights for me and make headlights far less of a pain without making it difficult to see. 6) They're CHEAP. C'mon, guys. A box of eyedrops for DES usually costs more than these. 7) I use LESS eyedrops now. They provide a shield over your eyes (this is important if you have DES), which reduces the air that hits your eyeballs. Also, with less eyestrain, I find that I am not reaching for my eyedrops to provide relief. Just do it. Buy the glasses. If you hate them, return them. But I'm telling you I might buy five more pairs just to have a pair for every situation: at work, in my car, at home, an extra pair, in my purse, HELL I'd keep a pair in every freaking bag I own just to make sure I always have them. My eyes have NOT BEEN THIS COMFORTABLE IN SEVEN YEARS. Buy the glasses. I hope you love them as much as I do. ... show more

  • Great for Eye Fatigue While at the Computer
Color: Black Magnification Strength: 0.75 x
These tinted "readers" are the best glasses I've ordered in the last 8 months, and I have 4+ pairs! I'm relatively new to wearing any type of lenses as I spent all of my childhood and most of adulthood (until now) with perfect vision. But once I hit my 40s, I started experiencing eye strain and fatigue when using the computer for more than a couple hours: dryness, blurry screen, etc. I tried various so-called "computer glasses" with little success: some were too orange such that color was distorted when movie-watching; another pair was too heavy and fit awkwardly on my nose, while another brand had lenses that were so cheaply made I could never get them clean; moreover, some companies claim their lenses "block blue light" but are actually completely clear and do nothing at all! The Eyekepper Readers are perfect: just enough tint to alleviate eye fatigue while not distorting primary colors on the screen; they fit well on my nose/face and are super stylish: the pair I purchased look like those cool black ray bands from the 1980s (Tom Cruise anyone??) which seem to work well with the shape of my face and head. They come with a quality case for storage, and a cloth for cleaning that works really well. Totally worth the price, and would purchase again. ... show more

  • Really eases eye strain when reading on devices
Color: Black Magnification Strength: 0.75 x
I bought these because I had some general awareness that my reading vision was deteriorating, and I look at devices/computer screen for at least 8 hours/day. The last straw was when I went 2 weeks waking up with a headache almost every day. I ordered these with the 0.75 magnification, and I can't believe how much better it makes looking at my computer screen. If I take them off, my eyes can adjust and read the screen, but I can literally feel them having to work. When I put them back on, everything is easily clear, and it doesn't feel like my eyes are getting blasted. Maybe some of that is psychological, but it is just much more pleasant to look at a screen. The glasses seem well-constructed to me (I don't normally wear glasses), and fit me just fine (I'm 6'1, 195). Because of other reviews warning about scratching, I've been very careful with them for the few weeks I've had them so far. I keep the case on my desk, and set them in it on the provided cloth when I'm not looking at my screen, and store them in the case when not in use. So far I haven't noticed any scratches from carefully cleaning them. I do notice sometimes the reflection/glare in the glasses from my own eye. Maybe this is normal for anyone wearing glasses, but it's new to me. I also would say these may not be the most stylish piece of eyewear there is, but I'm using these for function, not to impress. With that said...I may look around for another pair to wear at the office (I use these at home only). They certainly aren't bad though. I would definitely recommend. ... show more

  • I love these glasses and
Color: Black Magnification Strength: 1.25 x
I purchased these glasses specifically for use with my computer. Over the years my eyesight has changed and I have started needing cheaters. I have tried several different brands from several different stores but what I like about these is that they are specifically for computers. They have an anti glare coating and do offer some UV protection. The computer screen is no longer a bright white but rather a light light yellow tinge ... My eyes feel better after a long day on the computer, no where near the eye strain I used to have. I do not have to rub my eyes etc. About the glasses themselves...I really like the way they are built. They are solid, the lenses have not popped out after being dropped repeatedly. I am very thrilled with these. Also I have used them for reading, and prefer these to my reading glasses. The glasses did arrive on time and they did contain a microfiber cloth and a hard case. The only drawback is they are a bit heavy compared to many cheaters out there but the quality of build is worth the extra weight. I am about to buy another pair of these and maybe even 2. ... show more
