I wasn't sure if I should buy these or not. Nine percent of the customer reviews negative. I have a very old pair of +5 glasses that I use for very close work, about 6". I measured the distance with the new glasses and they are exactly the same. These glasses are not for reading a book on your lap. These glasses are perfect for their intended use. One of the negative reviews said one of the glasses has a loose screw?? I've had $250.00 glasses that had a loose screw. Get over it! These glasses are well made, the packaging was excellent, they came with their own clear vinyl cases, shipping was on time, and the price was fantastic. These beautiful glasses are only $6.00 each. The negative reviews I read were nonsense. I use +5 magnifiers everyday. I would buy these again, but it will be a long time before these wear out. I'm farsighted, so I often need strong readers to close up work. In a drugstore you typically can't get anything stronger than 3.5, so I was thrilled to find these. I order a pair of 5.0... they were shipped quickly and work great. Even though the lenses are acrylic it feels as though you are looking through glass. There is no distortion anywhere in the field of view and definition is terrific, not to mention that they fit perfectly out of the box (though your mileage may vary :) ). The glasses are have short arms, or temples, I can not adjust them and they can fall off and have damaged the lenses. Check them out first, you may need to return them.
