The color and finish is great. The color is exactly what I was expecting, and it fits perfectly. My controller feels as solid as it did before I swapped the plate. They have a tutorial video that was extremely helpful, and they provided the tools I needed to do everything right. I would definitely take your time, and make sure you follow the video tutorial.

Bought this to update my wife's controller as a christmas present, the install process was smooth, shell fit perfectly with no weird gaps or defects/chips. She has gamed on this shell several times a week for months and it shows no sign of damage or wear, would absolutely recommend for anyone wanting to DIY their own controller!

The "Electric Volt" color that some list as yellow was a little too green for my tastes. It was described to me as highlighter yellow and I can kind of see that, but still... too green. This faceplate was pretty much the only other yellow option so I went ahead and ordered. Now that I've seen it in person, I would describe the color as SCHOOL BUS YELLOW. It does lean a little bit toward orange, so I try not to think about it too much. I would have liked to see more yellow options like canary yellow or a softer pastel yellow just so that there is no ambiguity: is it green or orange‽ Installing it was pretty simple. Since I had never done anything like this before I did struggle taking the side covers off, even with the little plastic pry bar. At some points it seemed like the plastic prying tip was going to snap off but it held on. Once those two covers come off switching out the plates is simple enough. Overall, I do prefer this "Caution Yellow" to the "Electric Volt."

I'm not a gamer. I'm not good with electronics. I don't build stuff. I do use small parts and tiny screwdrivers for my job, so I had that going for me. I bought the replacement face plate, buttons, and joysticks to personalize my Xbox controller that came with my Xbox, so I'll be cross-posting this review for all of the items that went into it. It came out great and I'm super proud of myself. I didn't think I had it in me prior to buying the items, but watching the tutorial from beginning to end convinced me that I could. I had ordered some replacement parts by them in the past from Amazon, but they were mislabeled. This time everything came in the correct colors.
