  • Good but could've been great.
Color: Textured White
Overall this is a good kit. It gives you an option to solder additional buttons to remap but I would never assign those buttons to the paddles anyway so I decided to skip that step. I found it easy to install and the rear shell fits perfectly. The only issue I found with this kit is that the buttons are too easy to press inadvertently. I measured the force needed to activate the buttons and it came out to 180-200gf. This would normally be fine if pressing the button directly but not when using leverage via paddle to do so. I decided to replace the original tact switches with 400gf ones (PTS815 SJG 250 SMTR LFS) and now the paddles feel much better. ... show more

  • Complicated; can no longer use my controller
Color: Textured Blue
It took forever to install. No instructions on the box so had to look it up on YouTube. After following instructions, the controller wouldn’t turn on anymore.

  • How to use L3 and R3 on the paddles without soldiering
Color: Black
If your reading the mixed reviews on installation, in my opinion they are all correct. Installation will depend on your personal ability to handle electronics and follow detailed instructions. I can completely see someone having problems if you have never worked on a computer or disassembled electronics before. This might not be the best first starter project, but if you want paddles that will not break your bank account, this is the way. I watched the youtube video and paused it after each step and double checked each step as my personal comfort level doing these projects is probably very average. It took me an hour and there were a couple steps that I struggled with as some of the electronics are very small inside. However, this was all completely due to the fact I had not done this install before and there just was some learning to do with it. I suggest that you do not do the soldering unless your highly experienced. The workaround if you need to use L3 or R3 on your paddles is to enable the Playstation custom button assignments. You access this in the main PS5 menu in the settings>accessibility>controllers>custom button assignments. Enable this feature, then use the application to remap the L3 and R3 buttons to the controller buttons that can be programmed into the paddles. After I was complete, the product is working as advertised. My biggest long-term concern will be durability. The buttons "seem" a little more fragile than my old back paddles. With as much use as they are going to get, I guess time will tell if they will be able to hold up. ... show more

  • BIG W
Color: Black
I had the ExtremeRate Dawn PS4 DS kit and enjoyed it a lot. Got so use to assigning buttons. I missed this so much on the Dualsense when I got my PS5 back in November. I use Dualsense on PS5 And PC. It's a great controller but, imo, missing the back buttons. This kit filled the void. The buttons feels really nice. Installing, for me, is like a LEGO project. Just be prepared to follow each step on YouTube, be patient, and give yourself an hour minimum for first timers. I could probably do #2 in 30 minutes now that I know. I had no issues installing and I'm 42 years old. I did not solder because I personally don't need those buttons (that require soldering). My buddy bought a controller online (AIM) and spent $240 without the haptic feedback. That's a big L in my book compared to this $40 kit + $70 controller. Half the price for more. ... show more

  • Dare I say.......perfect?
Color: Textured White
I’ll keep it short. Price to quality ratio is there. You can’t beat 40 dollars for a remappable SCUF like controller with better back paddle placement. I did the whole deal, soldering an all. I figured if I’m gonna do it, I’m gonna do it. All works perfectly. Just some food thought. If you’re planning on buying an already modded controller on eBay or AIM, make sure they have shark tooth paddles on the back. Buttons alone will not be a comfortable experience because it’s impossible to put them where one would need them and keep the haptics in the controller. I personally bought one on eBay, used for a bit, but the low buttons caused my hands to hurt. I ended up buying another with higher buttons which were about a half finger too low, but was still relatively comfortable. I bought some shark tooth paddles from Germany and they worked perfectly. Buttons are able to be pressed comfortably and easily from multiple positions on the back of the controller. This would be the paddle advantage going the route. IMHO both are strong options. If I had to choose one, I’d choose this kit. Clean look, perfect paddle placement, and not too difficult to install especially if you omit the soldering. I’ll post pictures and possibly a video of the kit. ... show more

  • Excellent product, very detailed instructions
Color: Black
I got two of those and it was my first time trying to install something like this. INSTALLATION I did mine without solding anything, so you can skip a few steps. The downside is that without wolfing you can’t reassign the L3/R3 and pad buttons, aside from that, everything is the same. I didn’t also require any extra equipment, because the box had all that was needed (aside from the controllers ofc). The YouTube video with the instructions is semi-hard to follow if you have never done this before. It was bit confusing if you are going to skip the soldering parts (but they tell you in the video when to skip). Just follow closely the instructions and it’s totally doable. HOW LONG DID IT TAKE? My first controller took me around an hour to install. The second controller about 20 minutes, because once you do it once, it gets super easy. HOW TO ASSIGN BUTTONS? Once everything is done, assigning buttons is a piece of cake. Just hold the back button for 3 seconds, let go, then press and hold the K (the new buttons are called K1 and K2) button and controller button you want to assign (for example, X or R1), let go, then press back button for another 5 seconds and it’s that easy. IS IT GOOD? As far as how it feels, it’s just as good as the controller itself, I haven’t noticed any lags or anything like that. It works great and as expected. Also I like the sound the pads make when you press them. ... show more
