First, these shutters arrived super quick, actually a week earlier than expected. I was very thrilled about that! My husband just painted our front door on a Saturday and we ordered shutters that night, hoping they would match, but prepared to paint them. We first looked on lowes.com and I didn't realize how much shutters cost! So, we took a chance and looked on Amazon and found these in the size and color we needed for half the price!! Score! They arrived the following Thursday and matched our door perfectly! My husband had to drill out holes in the shutters by using the template holes on the back side. They came with color match screws that won't rust and went in smooth and securely! Took less than an hour to install 8 shutters. I couldn't be more pleased with how well they look and the quality. They did have a few minor manufacturing boo boos, but nothing major or noticeable unless you get up close. ... show more

These shutters are simple and add so much to the look of my home after installing new siding. The install was super easy. The holes have punch out marks on the back side. Center your 5/16 bit and drill them all out first. Next line up the shutter mark the hole ( i used a tiny sharp punch and mallet to poke the siding.) Then drill the siding with 1/4” bit. Punch thru vinyl with bit but don’t drill into the panel behind siding. I used a 3 “ siding anchor but had to trim to two inches with a sharp pair of snips because siding space wasn’t deep enough. Pop in each of the anchors to hold shutter, then using rubber mallet one light whack sets the anchor in place. The shutter shouldn’t be super tight as it needs room for heat expansion. Piece of cake. They look great and inexpensive to replace if you decide later to go with different colors. Doesn’t take a pro carpenter to do this. ... show more

I live in Texas and have had these on my house now for going on 4 years. They have not faded, cracked, or flown off. I ordered the dark brown to match all the dark brown on my house including my roof, front door, porch pillar, and lanterns. They look great. I just put a pair of these up on a masonry wall; Instructions say use 1/4 inch masonry bit. I did on first one and several of the plastic screws did not go all the way in. (I.m gonna have to cut them off and glue on the screw head for aesthetics.} I definitely went deep enough with the bit. On 2nd shutter, I drilled with a 5/16" bit and the screws slid right in somewhat snugly. In my opinion, the best bit to use on a block wall would be a 9/32" bit which is an odd size, but a 5/16" is workable. Followup: I called and the vendor is sending me another bag of plastic bolts. I will redrill 1st shutter masonry holes with a 5/16th bit. BTW, shutters look great. ... show more
