  • Lots of storage and features
Color: Camo
This is a versatile bag because of the expandable feature that converts it from a 40 L pack to a 64 L pack. The shell is constructed of 600D polyester, which is very rugged and water-resistant. The exterior sides have either a pocket or MOLLE, and the back panel has two zippered compartments. The shoulder straps have a thin layer of padding and MOLLE along the front. The top hand strap has a molded polymer cover to give strength and comfort when hand-carrying the pack. The removable waist straps have MOLLE on the outside and padded mesh paneling on the inside. The buckles are made of a polymer material. Now for the interior. It has one super-large compartment with interior pockets on the panels. The interior is completely coated with a synthetic liner to repel water. There are no internal compression straps to stabilize the gear, but the pack can be zippered to reduce its size, and it has external compression straps around the sides. The zippers are large and relatively easy to move. The zippers are 1 ¼ inches long and the zipper extensions are 2 inches long. Overall, I like the size, looks, and features of this pack. It can function as a pack that can carry equipment and supplies for 1 to 3 days. At its price point, this is a good value. My only criticism is with the shoulder straps. First, the padding on the shoulder straps is much too scant for a pack of this size that can hold a substantial amount of weight. Yes, it does have a waist belt to help support the load, but that does not compensate enough for the slim padding. Second, the shoulder straps are sewn into the top of the pack with a single seam that has two points of reinforcement. I’m not sure the stitching or the material will hold up to the heavy stresses imposed on them over the long term, but I could be wrong. Alternatively, the hand strap has Box X stitching on each attachment point, which is very strong and spreads out the stress to a larger area. Until I know how the shoulder straps hold up over long-term usage, I will limit the amount of weight going into the pack. ... show more

  • One of the most versatile bags I own!
Color: Gray
Quality fabric, stitching, zippers, handle, zipper pulls, velcro, loops, pockets, shoulder and waist strips galore! The back has a layer of padding. There is no padding in the bottom. And to top it off, it expands from 40 to 64 liters in size! You can easily pack for 2 or 3 days in that! With the removable waist strap, it really can be great for luggage only. Also the 4 side cinches can be used to tighten the bag flatter. If I were to place a laptop or tablet in it, I would have it in a padded pouch and a layer of padding on the bottom. There is room for one easily in the back elastic pocket. It comes in several colors and patterns. I chose gray so it would be close to a neutral shade. I've used it for short trips and might use for a gig bag when playing with the band! Such high quality! I'm impressed!!! Go for it! ... show more

  • Ultimate Travel Companion: Expandable Tactical Backpack Review
Color: Black
I recently invested in the HYKING Expandable Military Tactical Backpack, and I must say, it's top-notch quality through and through. As someone who frequently travels, I've always struggled to find a carry-on that's spacious yet manageable. This backpack has been a game-changer for me. Its expandability from 40L to 64L is a standout feature, accommodating everything I need for my trips without feeling bulky. The array of pockets and compartments has organized my packing process like never before. Each item has its designated spot, which not only keeps things tidy but also easily accessible. The hydration compartment and the water bottle pocket have been particularly handy during long hikes and airport waits. Despite its capacity, the backpack is surprisingly comfortable to carry, thanks to its well-designed straps and lightweight structure. For anyone in need of a versatile, durable backpack that can handle the rigors of travel and outdoor activities, this is a 5/5 recommendation from me. ... show more

  • Excellent quality and value
Color: Gray
I'm very happy with this backpack. The design, materials, and workmanship are all excellent. The design is extremely spacious. It easily accomodates 2 or 3 days worth of gear and supplies. It provides pretty good air circulation (breathability) on your back when wearing it. An inner sleeve makes stowing a laptop or tablet easy. For everyday use, it compresses to take up less space. The molded handle on top is wide and comfortable, making the bag convenient to carry when you're not wearing it, for example getting in and out of cars. The fabric is heavy-duty yet flexible and comfortable to wear. The zippers are also heavy-duty, with good rain flaps and pulls. All of the buckles and connectors are sturdy, and are easy to operate. All the straps are thick enough to last. Even the included D-ring is not bad. The color is deep and looks good. All of the stitching is precise and even. I have a few minor issues. I'm 6'3" tall, and the bag is really too small for me. I can make it work for a day, but the sizing is not ideal for a taller person. Part of that is the padding on the straps, which ideally would be heavier. I cannot close the chest strap, it's just too small for me. Also, the water bottle carrier fabric is a little flimsy, and seems like it will wear out pretty quickly. For <$50, this pack is an excellent value. It's a very good choice for a high-capacity medium-duty backpack. ... show more

  • This bag looks nice and will be ok as a day pack.
Color: Tan
This bag looks nice and will be ok as a day pack. I would not trust it for carrying heavy items since the shoulder straps stop and are stitched in to the top of the pack. They end at the top of the bag. (unlike a military surplus bag that has straps inside the bag stitched in to the back on the inside) Sadly it makes the shoulder strap the weak point of failure in the bag. Over all the bag has nice zippers, thick padding on the straps and seems to have waterproofing areas along with the ability to hold a hydration bladder inside it. So this would be a good day pack for light items, but not much more. Thank you -Mike ... show more
