Cherry wood's natural resistance to moisture helps prevent warping and cracking, ensuring the board lasts longer. The board should be oiled and waxed once or twice a month to keep it well maintained. You can use food-grade mineral oil for this purpose. Apply a generous layer of the oil to the sides, top, bottom, and any groove, grip, or handle. Let the oil soak into the wood for at least three hours before wiping off the excess. After the oil has had enough time to soak into the grains, it's time to wax the board. Cherry is a hardwood that has a reddish-brown color and a smooth finish.
