Description

Your pre-Christmas ski trip definitely hasn’t gone as planned: Just as you are taking a break and enjoying the crystal-clear mountain air, you hear a noise and see a terrifying avalanche crashing down the mountain towards you. Your heart is in your throat, you hastily grab your seven things and race down the slope. With the last of your strength, you throw yourself into a crevice in the rock as everything behind you is buried in snow. Your heart races and you pull yourself together. You can hardly believe it, but you are alive! Only then do you take a look around: is this some kind of cave? This advent calendar is both an EXIT game and adventure story: in order to free yourself from this predicament, you must open a door of the calendar each day. Behind each door you will find a new and exciting riddle, the solution to which will bring you closer and closer to escaping the cave! Will you solve the mystery of the ice cave and find the exit?

I bought this for my wife for Christmas and she loved it. The puzzles vary from easy to intermediate difficulty, but I'll be honest we had to use the clues a few times. I bought her a traditional puzzle advent calendar last year, and she enjoyed this way more. My only complaint, and it's really minor because the journey was so enjoyable, is that the finale is a little weak. Not something that would make me hesitate in buying this again for someone, but after such a fun journey, its a bit anti-climatic. 100% recommend this and just know like any escape room, its really just about getting out and enjoying the journey along the way. ... show more

This is like an escape room played over 24 days. The puzzles vary from very easy to very hard. The hard puzzles have an obscure trick that must be accomplished before one can continue.

Every year our family of four each get an advent calendar. We've done everything from chocolate and whiskey to Legos and bracelet charms. They're always fun, but after a while the kids get bored or the edible items get forgotten in the pantry only to be thrown away. This year I wanted to try something different where we could all still participate together but didn't include unnecessary "stuff". Enter the Exit: Advent Calendar! We've done a number of these Exit Games and they are so creative and really get you thinking. When you're able to solve the riddle as a team it is so exciting. When I saw that they created an advent calendar I couldn't buy it fast enough and keeping it a secret until December was near impossible. Every night in December the kids (boy and girl, ages 10 and 15) can't wait to read the story and open the room for the day. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and we're all still as hooked as day one. To say that we are fans would be an understatement. I don't think I could ever go back to a generic candy filled advent again. I hope the folks at Exit Games create a new adventure for 2023. My 12 year old son and I had a fun time doing the puzzles each day for this advent calendar. Some of the puzzles we got easily but many we had to look at the clues. I like how you can just look at the first clue or second clue and usually that was all we needed. I love how the whole box is used for the puzzles! There was one really hard puzzle with a train set and you were supposed to use this teeny tiny train track on the inside of the daily box and it was seriously impossible. But the rest were pretty good! The story was fun to read each day and I love how detailed the images were for each daily 'box'. ... show more

We’ve done these EXIT advent calendars 2 years in a row. My family of 4 loves them. I actually enjoy them more than traditional escape room box games- something about moving from day to day with the story unfolding, and the creative use of materials over those days, makes it even more fun than traditional escape room type box games. I was so impressed with this calendar. I though there was no way that for the (normal) price a box of low-tech cardboard could hold my attention. It really surpassed my expectations.
