Exception Woodcrafts' Convertible desk and chair combination is a fantastic means of encouraging your child to be independent and responsible. This tower allows children to interact and participate in activities at counter or table height. When in the desk position your child will have a space to call their own where they can play or have a meal. Finishes are available in the following colors: Natural, Wheat Straw, Mahogany, Light Walnut, Cherry, Ebony, Pink, Navy, Yellow, Whitewash, Aqua and Grey. The ready to finish version has been sanded smooth to the touch in our shop; however, it may require additional sanding to meet your needs. Please be advised that due to the nature of the plywood panels used the edges may have small voids and occlusions. All are finished with a furniture grade lacquer. CONSTRUCTION: Tower is constructed from 20 mm (.75 inch) Poplar Plywood which is lightweight and very durable. Includes all hardware: 2 Hinges (already Installed), 2 Clasps and all related fasteners. Does not include: 1 & 3 Phillips screwdrivers.

Edit to add: my daughter is now 3 and we still love it! I sing it's praises all the time and constantly give out the link in my mom groups on Facebook to anyone looking for a great learning tower! I absolutely love this kitchen helper/desk! I got it for my 18 month old daughter so she can reach the counter and help me in the kitchen. I also love that it can fold into a little desk that she can eat at or play at. She uses it every day! It's super sturdy and attractive and I am very happy with my purchase. I was a little surprised that it came unassembled, which it might have said in the description, but I didn't notice if it did. However, it makes sense, since unassembled it fits in a much smaller package! It was very easy to put together, but I'd recommend using a drill, since using a screwdriver by hand was a bit tedious and left my hands bright red and sore!     • Lovely tower, Missing screws
So, haven’t yet gotten a chance to use this, as I only just put it together. It already seems very sturdy in the desk form! However, the included toy box/suit case fasteners were missing the screws needed to attach the clasps! It looks like these are just some you’d pick up from a hardware store for a few bucks, as they came in a package with its own barcode. I give five stars regardless since I can totally understand grabbing something from the store and figuring it should all be there, especially if buying in bulk. However, is there any chance the seller can let me know what size screw I’ll need for this since the holes are pre drilled for the hardware? ... show more

As a grandmother living in a small apartment, I have very little room for the necessities a toddler needs. This convertible tower and table/chair piece is perfect. It’s strong, durable, nice looking and so easy to use. The only negative thing I can say is that when putting it together, I realized three pre-drilled holes for one of the latches were missing. This item definitely feels hand crafted with care, and your feel you are buying from a family business (a nice change when so much of the wooden Montessori stuff is made in China). When I opened the box, I thought it looked daunting to assemble, but it was straightforward (even for me, and I’m rubbish at stuff like that). Our 11 month old immediately took to it, enjoying sitting in it to eat some snacks and also standing on the step stool. I think it’s going to be a much-loved and much-used item. Ours had a slightly splintered bit but that could well have been caused in transit and would be easily sanded down if you wanted. I’m very pleased with it. ... show more

Got this for my son's first birthday and I put it together myself in like 40 minutes, would have been sooner but I put the hinge piece on upside down so I had to redo it. It's simple and I like that it doubles as a little table that he can sit at.

So glad I bought this item for my little. Everything came as expected and in a timely fashion and packaged well for shipment. I bought it bare wood and stained it myself (‘cuz’ I had some stain I needed to use up) The wood is beautifully grained and finished well. The hardware is very durable. We’ve been using ours for a year now and it is very durable. We added felt pads to the desk feet to protect our wood floors as the kid pushes it around the kitchen and living room floors. This stool is a great value. It is sturdy and made with high quality material. The size and versatility are spot on. It is a bit heavy but the quality of material is work the weight. It is sized perfectly for our 1.5 yr old son. It appears that this will be very handy for years ahead
