Ewbank Scrubber Review The Ewbank scrubber arrived quickly and was easy to unbox and assemble with the help of its concise two-page instruction manual (see attached photo). Performance: The included cleaning pads are effective, but they require frequent cleaning during use; or you may want to consider investing in replacement pads. Following your preferred cleaning solution instructions and operating the scrubber machine slowly provides the best results. Usage Tips: For optimal cleaning, move the scrubber slowly in "X," "V," or "S" patterns to ensure full floor coverage. Controlled, deliberate movements are essential, as the machine can become difficult to manage if rushed. The power cord requires careful handling to avoid tangling, and loss of scrubber machine control during use (a cordless option would be fantastic, but may not offer the degree of power needed). Design Notes: The handle, which converts between single and dual-handle options, is a nice feature but not critical. The machine starts automatically when the handle is lowered, which may briefly cause a loss of control as power engages (this is where a power button would be helpful). The user can easily maintain control once they get a-custom to the scrubber. Personal Preference: An interchangeable scrubber and vacuum head with a push-button switch (as seen on other Ewbank models) would enhance convenience, though this is a preference rather than a necessity. Overall, this scrubber delivers solid performance when used thoughtfully and carefully. There is only one speed and in my personal preference, it may be a little bit slow. The floor dries quickly if modest floor product is applied. Reasonable shine can be achieved, but the right product for the right floor is essential in that result. Given everything, this is a good value for the purchase price and would even be a good gift for someone that wants to maintain cleanliness, but does not want work hard to do so. I bought this for the scrubber. I am currently trying it out. It works well. A nice feature is the adjustable handle. One click and it adjusts from 35 inches to 44 inches fully extended. I am tall so this is wonderful on my back. Another nice feature is that you can just pop off the brushes and trade them out for the pads for polishing and cleaning, but like I said, Iâm only interested in the scrubbing power for my basement.

This little machine was a lifesaver. I made the mistake of putting polish on my engineered hardwood floor and dogs/kids/life destroyed the coating. I called a flooring company to find out how much it would cost to remove the polish and I was quoted $2400. Um no thanksâŠ.lol. So I decided to do the work myself. This machine saved me from having to strip my hardwoods by hand with a scrub brush and worked like a charm. The spin rate was great for blasting off the treated polish. My only complaint about the machine was that there is no âon/offâ button. In order to turn it off you have to lock the handle which is not easy to do and makes a horrible noise. Definitely a great buy for the price and I look forward to using it for other projects!

Shattered my dreams donât buy.

oh dear God, do not buy this! I had such high hopes for this little machine, and I was so disappointed. I wanted to cry after using it! Itâs not heavy enough to do the job. If I had some weight on top of it it would do amazing. But it doesnât. Itâs lightweight, it is a little short, but is someone that is almost 5â10â tall I didnât find it uncomfortable to use height wise. I did feel like I needed to put my foot on it to bear down on it so we could actually scrub. But the problem with that is youâre going to break it if you do it. Thereâs a sticker on it that says donât apply pressure extra weight. Itâs there for a reason. It will strip out the bearings that make the brushes rotate and spin and all you will have is a machine that completely doesnât work and it will be your own fault. I gave this a good go. I did everything I could think of to make it something I would love. Even make excuses for it trying to justify all the research Iâve done in my expectations of it before it arrived. But thereâs no real excuse for it. Iâm a professional housekeeper, I thought I had researched and finally found an affordable transportable version of a floor scrubber that would be appropriate for using in my residential clientâs homes. I was so freaking wrong I could have cried. A boxed up, and I sent it back. You really cannot buy a floor machine like this and have it be small, transportable, affordable, and appropriate for residential use in my opinion. The pads are rather on the small side. I could see them being OK for perhaps buffing a very small entryway that had been previously cleaned, but if youâre going to be putting in the work to do a larger floor, you might be better off doing it manually just to save the frustration because itâs going to take much less time. The scrubbing brush heads were appropriate bristle wise. Also small, but I expected that given the specs given to you in the description. The thing is with any sort of scrub brush, especially if youâre dreaming of tackling grout, it will scrub the surface of the tile, but it will not be down into the grooves of grout. You have to have a uneven bristle surface to reach both tile and grout at the same time. I canât fault this machine or its brush head design because that is a common thing. But even if it wasnât, even if the Russell had any hope of getting down into standard grout lines of any type, they wouldnât because like I said this machine isnât heavy enough. Doesnât matter how fast the brush heads or the buffing pads are in this case, you just canât get around the fact that itâs way too light to get anything done. Even paired with appropriate products or specialty grout cleaning products. The only real cleaner youâre going to see is from your manual scrubbing or from the product youâre using, not this machine. This is not your go to, it wonât save you time. It will only make you disappointed, skip it.

Great floor cleaner/polisher, BUT

It' a good floor cleaner, works great, it's light, easy to use. However, it just stopped working on me the other day and I've only had it for 5 months. I take good care of it and I don't use it all the time, maybe a couple times a month for work, so there is no reason for it to stop working. Has a year warranty so I'll see if they repair/replace it for me. I do recommend it, I just hope they replace it and that the next one lasts more than 5 months.

Light and easy to manage

Bought this cleaner and I am surprised about it's performance. Used to clean very dirty terrazzo floor using the brush and it did a very good job - the floors now shine. It can also be used as a light sander for floors - will try to use to prep a wood deck. PS for some reason I am not able to give it stars - will have rated five stars.

I'm very happy with the product, but it does have a learning curve. I'll share my experience in case anyone can use the tips for waxing a wood floor with paste wax. I didn't find specific instructions with the machine. At first I used way too much wax and tried to apply it on a Swiffer dust mop. Best way to apply and not use too much is apply just a dollop on the blue cleaning/polishing pad. If a big room, put a small amount on each of the four sections of the pad. It covers a large area before you need to reapply wax. The wax I had said wait 3-5 minutes before buffing. That's no where near enough time. I waited 30 minutes and buffed with the yellow buffing pads and it looks great and was easy. My back thanks you.
