This is the guitar that started it all. Built around 1975 by Eddie Van Halen. It appeared on the cover of the first Van Halen album. Its iconic white with black stripes design went on to become the famous main Frankenstein guitar after red paint was added.Each model is officially licensed by EVH and handcrafted with amazing detail. I got all three versions. One of them came with the neck off. Not broken, just fallen off. I could see no glue in the neck joint. Gluing it back and restringing was a nice project but probably be cautious if it's a gift or you don't want to spend a few minutes to fix this. On the positive side the neck pocket had better fit than a lot of big guitars and glued up pretty nicely :) Otherwise these are great. Nice attention to detail. The item arrived quickly and the items inside the box were in good shape. The box itself, which was decorative and part of the selling point, was ripped on the side. This kind of ruined the image of it being a guitar case. Some type of protective packing for the whole item would be beneficial.

I love these little collectable replica guitars. I have several. But, quality control has been lacking on the latest versions. I've noticed that tuning pegs may be crooked or tremelo arm broken off, etc. A little super glue fixes most issues, but shouldn't have to repair a brand new item!

AMAZING! Words and pictures do not do justice! I previously purchased 2 sets of ALL 3 versions directly from the company, much to my regret now looking back! The 1st Frankenstrat version that I received from the "other company" looked just like the $900 striped guitar that you can buy here, paint job was great, however, details were lacking, and there was no antiquing or very much distress shown on the item. With THIS UPGRADED VERSION, it has a tremendous amount MORE detail, including the routed out area where the original pickups should be, exposed "wires" are visible, reflectors included on the rear, cigarette burns, and even the quarter screwed onto the guitar! While the color is not as RED as the first one that I purchased, (directly from them, a few years ago), it simply looks amazing! Even the case that it comes in looks top notch compared to what it was! I plan on buying the other versions as well, with NO hesitation! Just wanted to add that while the 1st Black & White version looks similar to what they are selling here, the Bumblebee Version that I have, (again, directly from the company a few years ago) looks NOTHING like the version available for sale on here. It was like they just threw something together on the version that I have, which is why I so strongly regret purchasing directly from them when I did. I almost want to throw it out, or repaint it, but I won't. ... show more
