  • Works great
Style: Capture Card Size: XR1 Pro
Might be the best capture card in this price range. Captures 1440p144fps with no problem (it can also capture 4k, but I don't have a 4k monitor so wasn't able to test that), was plug and play with obs. Like with some other capture cards that include headphone monitoring and a line in, obs doesn't automatically capture the audio, you have to add it as an additional source. But unlike other similar capture cards (looking at you, razer), the audio still sounds great even using this approach. The line in also solved a separate issue I was having with audio from a GoXLR Mini going to a laptop, as I was able to run the line out from the GoXLR to the line in on the capture card to capture the audio. The rgb is a nice touch and looks good, though I'm not sure if there's any way of setting it outside of the controls on the card itself. EDIT: Figured out how to set the rgb, you can download the software for it from their website. Super lightweight and simple software. Overall, the card looks and works great and is probably the best option in the $100 price range. ... show more

  • Extremely useful for streaming, very good product
Style: Capture Card Size: XR1 Pro
I am an AV Tech/Streaming Tech, I am the technical aspect behind a live-stream. Having this is a must have, to get video into your computer/laptop. As you know, unless you have a special/custom computer, you wont have a [video input], no way of bringing in a video feed. This capture card, allows you to do just that. Bring a video source in, to your laptop/computer. I have not had any issues with this capture card. Its 1 of the 3 that I trust for an actual stream, because as you know, in "Live", there are no re-do's. I will not use an item, put my job on the line, with an item I do not trust. I have used/tried just about all the known capture cards, as its my job, my life. A neat thing about this capture card, is that it has has audio capture, with a somewhat of an audio control. For beginners : select "video capture" as your source, to get the video feed being sent. On the software, you are using. ... show more

  • Good quality and easy to use, but with an audio incompatibility for my use case
Style: Capture Card Size: XR1 lite
The media could not be loaded. I needed a capture device for streaming meetings to remote participants from a multi-room setup with an internal RF feed. At some point, the building will be updated to use HDMI throughout, but right now the feed goes into a composite-to-HDMI scaler for the modern side of the setup, and I wanted to use this HDMI source for streaming so everything would still work the same after the eventual upgrade. The XR1 lite seemed to be up to the task: - The UVC support means it is plug-and-play on recent operating systems and should continue to be supported going forward. I used it on MacOS Monterey and Windows 10, and the video and audio inputs were automatically recognized on both systems. - USB3 allows for lossless 1080p capture. The picture quality doesn't suffer from compression artifacts, and I didn't notice any dropped frames. - HDMI passthrough allows it to be part of a larger setup without needing a splitter. - It was relatively cheap. There are of course cheaper capture devices, but there are trade-offs in video quality. I tested the device at home with great success. However, when used in its final location, the captured audio was completely glitchy and impossible to understand. I tried everything I could think of but came to the conclusion that the XR1 lite (firmware 09.0e.80) just can't handle the audio stream from the converter in use (GefenTV GTV-COMPSVID-2-HDMIS v6.04). I recorded a quick video with a Nintendo Wii hooked up to the converter to demonstrate the audio issue. Apart from this apparent audio incompatibility, it can be hard to troubleshoot what's happening if the plug-and-play nature of the device fails you. There is a status light that changes color / flashes, but once when I was using the passthrough, there was no capture and the light was simply off until I unplugged the output's HDMI cable, and everything worked when I plugged the cable back in. The fix was simple, but it's possible this wouldn't be completely no-fuss as part of a streaming setup. In short, the majority of people looking at this device are probably interested in streaming from a gaming console or PC, and if that's you, I think this is a good choice that will capture high-quality video. If you're like me and need to handle an arbitrary content source, it's probably fine in most situations, but be aware that you might hit an incompatibility like I did. ... show more

  • Great quality for the price
Style: Capture Card Size: XR1 lite
This product was bought as a gift for a friend and was purchased as an alternative to the significantly more expensive Elgato HD60X with the purpose of streaming Nintendo Switch gameplay to Twitch. To say I was pleasantly surprised at the image quality would be an understatement. I have some experience with the Elgato HD60S and I have to say that this device either matches or exceeds the quality I experienced from that device. Setup was simple enough that pretty much anyone with any amount of computer experience should be able to get it up and running in just a few minutes. Absolutely recommend this device and I may be purchasing another soon for myself to replace my own failing HD60S. ... show more

  • Using with OWC USB-C Cable To Mac Studio
Style: Capture Card Size: XR1 lite
This is a great and reliable capture device that I use basically daily. I record gaming YouTube videos on a Mac Studio and Mac Studio Display monitor, which if you don't know, only has 4 USB-C connections, thus, there's no way to hook up gaming consoles to the monitor directly. However, I use a high-speed OWC USB-C Cable to connect direct to Mac Studio, and I play games through OBS, which if you right-click the screen and preview it, you can full screen the Mac Studio Display now, and it looks and plays perfectly. Keep in mind, however, it's not the capture card's fault, but you'll need a HDMI splitter to bypass some Sony devices like PS3 for example because the dreaded HDCP lockout, so between my gaming console and capture device, I use a ViewHD 2 Port 1x2 Powered HDMI 1 in 2 Out Mini Splitter for 1080P & 3D | Model: VHD-1X2MN3D. Hope this review helps, especially for the Mac lovers out there. ... show more
