I bought the 14 oz. for my son based on the reviews I read from a variety of places online. They are great beginner training gloves that my son uses on his 70-lb Venum punching bag. Here's what he loves: - Much improved over the original Powerlock gloves - New turnback hook-and-loop closure system (it's long, but enables you to easily tighten by yourself) - Quad-layered foam core that helps absorb impact when striking the bag - Synthetic leather and mesh material that provides greater ventilation (who wants sweaty hands?) The cons? - The mesh, while preventing ventilation, may loosen over time (but haven't experienced any) - If you're beyond beginner level, you may prefer actual leather vs. synthetic leather That said, this is an excellent (and more affordable) choice for beginners ... show more
