Dang, I slept on Evercade. This is likely the second best way to play Evercade, the first being the home console version. The library is pretty sizable now and there are enough mainstream hits to consider this a true layman's console. Worth $100 easy.

This handheld surprised me. It has the perfect weight, soft buttons and a buttery smooth diagonal pad. Also I’m new to the Evercade world but I’ve enjoyed it very much so far. In today’s day and age where you have access to endless games digitally, it’s nice to have options where you can still use a game cartridge. It’s nice being able to focus on a small group of games at a time vs thumbing through endless lists of games where I can’t choose. Great little device for the price. ... show more

This thing is very picky when it comes to charging blocks. I finally got one after trying 4 different blocks that it likes. Now that I can charge it properly I’ll play it more but so far I enjoy the Mega Pocket just a bit more, only flaw on the mega pocket is the d-pad. Other than that this handheld feels premium and plays just fine. I like that it connects to Wi-Fi making updates a breeze. The buttons are very responsive and it has a pretty long battery life. I wish the handheld came with its own brick so that’s why I had to deduct a star. Other than that I would recommend this handheld without a doubt if you’re into retro gaming. ... show more

Great handheld. Great value at this price point. Loving it so far. Plenty of reviews out there. Highly recommend you check it out. Hope they keep releasing more Tomb Raider titles and other great retro carts.

I’ve been on the fence with evercade for a few years. I almost got their original model about 4 years ago. I’m glad I didn’t. This new one is not only more powerful but redesigned to be more comfortable. Their second design was great as well but I never got it due to hearing a lot of hardware issues. Overheating, freezing/ bricking, and battery life made me cautious. This new model has so far been perfect. It’s been able to handle all the games I have for it and I’m currently waiting for more to arrive soon. It becomes addictive to collect for this devise and I’ve been really happy with the simplicity over all. If you are on the fence between the super pocket or this, do yourself a favor and spend the extra money on this. The shoulder button layout is leagues better and this won’t cramp your hands. ... show more

This handheld is cheap but you get what you paid for. Cheap plastics and contruction. The device has widescreeen LCD and it does not make any sense, since most of the library of this handheld are games in 4:3 aspect ratio. Another thing that doesn't make sense: even the new cartridges they released like the very own that comes in this bundle comes in white color, the same color of the now discontinued original Evercade. But this handheld is grey so the device looks weird when you insert the cartridge. The OS has some problems too, like the library that somehow shows the art covers a bit dark. Despite all these flaws, I think this is a good product, the games are cheap and easily available, so Evercade is, at least for now, a scalper-proof system. ... show more
