    • A big fan of this model of evercade
Style: EXP-R
I’ve been on the fence with evercade for a few years. I almost got their original model about 4 years ago. I’m glad I didn’t. This new one is not only more powerful but redesigned to be more comfortable. Their second design was great as well but I never got it due to hearing a lot of hardware issues. Overheating, freezing/ bricking, and battery life made me cautious. This new model has so far been perfect. It’s been able to handle all the games I have for it and I’m currently waiting for more to arrive soon. It becomes addictive to collect for this devise and I’ve been really happy with the simplicity over all. If you are on the fence between the super pocket or this, do yourself a favor and spend the extra money on this. The shoulder button layout is leagues better and this won’t cramp your hands. ... show more

    • Nostalgic fun with a great collection of games, all in a well-built handheld console.
Style: EXP-R
I bought this because I'm a child of the 90's and I was feeling a bit nostalgic. I miss when every game came with a manual that told you about the game/developers/controls/etc. Evercade brings that feeling back. Opening your new games is a delightful experience. I also like how many cartridges are available now, and how they keep updating the collection and software. This handheld console still gets a lot of support, and the hidden games you can unlock was a wonderful surprise. I'd recommend the Evercade to anyone, especially the handheld model because life makes it difficult to sit at home and play games, but with this lightweight and comfortable in your hand console you can game when the opportunity arises out and about. ... show more

    • Evercade, please fix the volume on the EXP-R.
Style: EXP-R
Got the dark gray one. So far so good. No screen bleed. The sound volume is unacceptable. The Super Pocket volume even on the lowest setting is loud enough to wake my wife from sleep. I'm currently in a quiet room. I have the volume on my EXP-R on full and I can barely hear the opening dialogue for Tomb Raider. Gameplay sound effects have a little more volume. Fingers crossed there's a future software update fix. ... show more

    • Very comfortable handheld
Style: EXP-R
This handheld surprised me. It has the perfect weight, soft buttons and a buttery smooth diagonal pad. Also I’m new to the Evercade world but I’ve enjoyed it very much so far. In today’s day and age where you have access to endless games digitally, it’s nice to have options where you can still use a game cartridge. It’s nice being able to focus on a small group of games at a time vs thumbing through endless lists of games where I can’t choose. Great little device for the price. ... show more

    • What a neat product!
Style: EXP-R
What a neat product! It's smaller than Switch Mini, feels great in your hands. So many retro games. I feel like a kid again playing with my Game Gear in the early 90's.

    • You had me at Tomb Raider
Style: EXP-R
Dang, I slept on Evercade. This is likely the second best way to play Evercade, the first being the home console version. The library is pretty sizable now and there are enough mainstream hits to consider this a true layman's console. Worth $100 easy.

The evercade exp-r is an all around upgrade from the evercade exp with its improved battery life and affordability in my opinion the coolest retro handheld device of decade!

    • Didn't work
Style: EXP-R
When I opened it I noticed a finger print on the screen, which was the first red flag. I then tried to power it on, but I got no image. It was on, though, since I could hear sound. Maybe I just happened to get a bad one, but I didn't want to bother with getting a replacement.
