The first thing you need to do is take the entire block of soap base out of the plastic wrapper and let it "sweat" out the oily film it seems to have. It took a couple days for me. It is unscented so it is great for adding whatever essential scent or oil you want to make it your own. It is a melt and pour soap base, takes color well and takes essential oil scent well. I made some very intricate bars of soap using silicone molds and it was perfect and very detailed. Be sure any color or scent added is cosmetic grade. ... show more
