I've been looking for a better way to organize our stuffed animal collection, but also wanted a system that was still accessible where my little one could put away and play with his friends without my help. I wasn't too keen on getting a hammock which may be a similar option due to the aesthetics. This pine shelf is a great in between. The quality of the wood is nice, sturdy and has a round and smooth finish. The shelf comes in various pieces that require assembly. For most of the build you don't need any tools aside from securing the two wood pieces at the base, you will need an electric drill and a balance if you care about precision. The instructions here aren't super clear and there are no predrilled holes to guide you. The other mystery is how you should place the bungee cords. I just weaved the front and back side and secured the ends with a knot, then tied all the extra bungee together into a web. This is one area I'm a little concerned about my child getting tangled in the cords, so I'm opting not to place the zoo in his room until he's older so I can keep an eye on him. I am also considering securing the storage to the wall where it could easily topple over. Pros - Has a lot of room for stuffed animals - High quality materials used - Creative and cute way for storage - Sturdy frame and design Cons - May not be completely safe for smaller children due to the vertical height. Shelf could topple over if not secured to the wall and could become entangled in the cords - A little on the pricey side - Animals on above the middle part are too high for children to reach

I like the stuffed animal storage unit, but I think it is overpriced. It is made of wood so that is nice, and it was very easy to put together. There are two smaller boards to put on the bottom so the animals don't fall through. I wish there was one for the middle section too. I also think the elastic string placement should be closer together because smaller stuffed animals fall out. It is a nice storage unit for stuffed animals, and it has helped with our need for storage, but I think the price and design need to be adjusted.

Very easy to put together, sturdy and cute. It holds tons of stuffies. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the stuffed animals need to be of at least medium size to fit. Otherwise they fall out.

My kids love this product. It makes cleaning up the stuffies much more exciting. The assembly was pretty easy except there were not guide holes for the base board screws. Thankfully the wood is soft and we managed to "eyeball" the screws placement to complete the assembly. The strings can be tightened or loosened depending on the amount of stuffed animals.

This was super easy to assemble and took me about 40 minutes because I had "helpful" kitties that were very happy to offer a lending hand with the elastic ropes. I probably would have been done in 30 minutes otherwise. The only thing about assembly that I found annoying is that there are not pre-drilled holes on the bottom for the two planks to be screwed into and you just make your own by screwing directly into the wood. Mine wound up being a bit crooked, but it's the bottom and will always be covered by a layer of stuffed animals so it is fine. I have a huge stuffed T-Rex named Tex that sits next to the bed and takes up a ton of space, and I was hoping that he would be able to sit on top of the zoo so that more stuffies could occupy the same space at the same time. I was very happy to see that the zoo is quite sturdy and Tex (who is super heavy) can indeed sit on top of the zoo without making it unstable or likely to fall over. This also means that if you're getting this for kids to use, it should be fairly difficult for them to topple it into themselves. I would recommend anchoring it to the wall if your kiddo is a climber, but otherwise it should be fine. This is beautiful and works quite well for creating more functional space by corralling stuffies and pillows into one space. I'm very glad that I got to try it out.

I've looked for years for a good solution for stuffed animal storage and never found a great solution until I found this animal zoo. I was very surprised at the large quantity of stuffies that can fit! It holds a ton! Assembly was straightforward, it took my kids and a little help from my husband to put it together in about 20 minutes. It's very sturdy when assembled. The elastic straps can be tighter or looser depending on how many animals you have in the zoo. I left them long so I can tighten them in the future if needed. As you can see from my pics this zoo can hold a lot of stuffed animals and it doesn't take a lot of room itself. It keeps them off of my daughter's bed, which is a huge plus for me! A great quality item, if you're looking for storage for your stuffties.

This toy storage is EPIC! It holds all of my daughters stuffed toys and she has ALOT. Sometimes they slip through the elastic “bars” but we call it a jail break and make a game out of it. Assembled really easily with all the parts and tools you need in the box. We are so happy to have found this adorable storage solution to save my sanity while cleaning up. I just toss them in the top. It’s a lifesaver and looks cute too!

My 7 year old boy assembled this by himself up to the height he could reach. It was packaged very well, and it cleaned up a huge pile of plushies in his room. We elected not to out the zoo sign on it, but it’s just great. Holds a huge number of plushies while still being accessible. I would absolutely buy another if I needed one.
