I had a hole in the wall right in the middle of my trim work where old cable lines used to come through. I wanted to get rid of the eye sore but also make sure I could access the cables in the future if need be. I had to install a small strip of wood as backing and use 2" drywall screws because this is made to mount to an electrical/receptacle box.
